Lag and Filesystem Performance

So my phone tends to lag horribly anytime the internal memory card is being accessed. I noticed a couple reviews that talk about how fast the phone is and the showed some benchmarks for it using Benchmark by Softweg on the market.

I figured I'd give it a try and see how it compares and noticed that my file system numbers are about half of the reviews scores. So I was wondering if anyone else has benchmarked their phones so I can see if I am in line or if I may have another issue with the device.

Samsung Captivate - Lags frequently
Total Graphics: 29.93
Total CPU: 717.49
Total Memory:621.05
Total Filesystem: 49.28

EDIT: Should note this is without any external card installed. With an external card the file system scores go up substantially.

Same with the Evo. Take that external SD card out and you got yourself an Apple I computer. SLOW SLOW SLOW.

Interesting...

I do notice that the phone in general starts to slow down and I'm only getting 30-40megs free memory. Thats why I run memory booster from time to time and that brings up free memory to about 180M and things are back to normal.
