Lag issue fixed

Ok, dumb it down for me, please. So the lag issue is due to putting the SD card in from the get-go, like out of the box, then setting up the phone? And will a master reset, taking the card out, then setting up the phone help?

I ask because, honestly, the lag on this phone, is unreal. Like trying to use a phone on a 3G network. It is very annoying. Love the phone and what it COULD potentially be, but the lag is really bad. Bad enough to return like in the first 36 hours of having it.

Not yet Leslie. We're trying to figure out how OP is/was using his SD card. He may of been using his card on another device and possibly storing app/app data on it. He hasn't posted yet.

Well my sd is one I used on my g3,so I suppose I will go through this process before swapping out at AT&T. I guess it's key to not use Google or any other backup...but download them individually from the play store?

I changed the animation settings in developer options to 0.5 and I think I see an improvement. Is that possible?

The lag I experience is so random. Sometimes with the back button, sometimes not. Sometimes in Facebook, sometimes not. Sometimes in Chrome, sometimes not. So frustrating bc I really like the phone itself! Just not the lag!

And every time I post on here, I get some error message about being duplicate posts, but I am not double tapping the post button?

Yea thats exactly what I did, I didn't even put the SD card back in, for fear of it coming back. I'm thinking something isn't jiveing with my sd card. If I were you I would try the hard reset and don't put the card back in and see how it works. Pain in the a$$ I know but the rest of the phone is so good I think its worth it.

That stinks! Wonder how it will go without using an SD card. Bummed bc the whole expandable storage thing was a huge selling point!

I wouldn't give up on the whole sd card thing... Just make sure it's new, not cheap, and fast.

For people who got issue with their SD cards, did you format your SD card after putting it in the G4? I was having some issue when I first moved my SD card from my Galaxy Note 2 to the G4. Everything works but it but weird things happen like random lags and could not locate certain folders. So I decided to backup the pictures and other files on the card and format the card. It seems to be running fine after that.

No I always download my apps from the app store when I switch devices, just basically had pictures, music and video on it.

What I should of said was.....if you were storing apps/app data on your previous device BEFORE you brought it over to your G4? There are many things that can cause corruptions but a big factor is quality. Which card where you using?

I always download from the playstore as well when i get a new device. I also format the micro SD card from my laptop before i pop it into a new Device. Clean slate and all

Yes. Always the possibility of random data screwing things up.
