Lag post jelly bean update

I'd be interested to know if anyone has figured out a definitive solution for lag. I have Google Now and Google + disabled, along with animations at .5, but the lag gets really really horrible sometimes, virtually unusable. Anyone?

In general the lag isn't a huge deal to me, but when I use my wife's iPhone 5 I'm often shocked at just how responsive it is. Between that and Facetime, I could almost see myself making a move to an iPhone in a year or two. Nova Launcher does help speed things up, and I have Google Now and Google + disabled as well.

I do freakin love the battery life still. :) That alone will probably drive me to use phones with huge batteries.

What I mean is that it doesn't really bother me but that doesn't mean there isn't a big difference compared to the iPhone

Go into Settings > Apps > Running

and find out which apps are memory hogs. Turn the worst offending app off, then use the phone for a while to see if the lag has gone away. Repeat as necessary with other apps. Time consuming to be sure, but I don't know what else you can try.

I installed nova launcher and like you said its perfect super fast. Thanks for your 2 cents worth. So good I felt I had to reply.

Just installed nova launcher and chrome circles, and teslaunread that will show the numbers next to the unread message app

I don't know if its a fluke or not but as soon as I disable the "traffic" portion of Google now my lag stops immediately. I have enabled and un-enabled it a few times and as soon as I stop it, the lag stops also.

Thanks I found it, I was searching for an app with that name, saw someone else suggested One More Clock widget and Chrome Circles is a skin within that

Is there a way to get Quick Settings working for Nova Launcher? I noticed that it disappeared after I started it.

I got my RAZR HD last week in trade for my Note 2 and noticed the lag. Switched to Nova Launcher and the lag went away. One More Clock Widget has my Chrome Rings looking just like the Circles Widget with similar functionality and I'm using Power Toggles set up with the same toggles that you can get from the Quick Settings Screen. Easy!
