Lag!!

I got the S22 Ultra yesterday evening (US Snapdragon) and haven't seen any lag or stuttering in my usage. Been using heavily from yesterday evening, granted it's less than a day but at least my initial experience has been great without any lag. Just to note I set up my device fresh and didn't restore from backup, I do that with my new phones so that I can leave out some of the apps I no longer use etc. But that shouldn't matter, just wanted to add a note about that since that's how I setup mine.

Same...got mine yesterday morning and been pushing it on wifi and 5G. Runs hella smooth (US snapdragon)

Remember too that some individual apps probably need an update. Everything on my S22 Ultra is very smooth except for my Washington Post newspaper app which is also choppy on my S21 Ultra and Google Pixel 6 Pro so in that case, it's the app and not the phone.

Yes for the screen flicker, but hopefully the usual release day update will fix both.

So far, so good. No lag or hiccups noticed. Its only been a day, but nothing yet.

Coming to the conclusion that there is not the perfect droid out there. Pixel 6 Pro is so good in so many ways but the FPS is annoying and the battery drops like a stone when used off of wifi. Convinced there is an issue with either the radio or tensor chip. The camera though for most things is I think the best there is (on a phone)

The S22U is maybe better and slicker overall and you'd hope the lag will get fixed but cannot assume it will I guess.

I have no lag on the SD version. Been using it since Monday and moved all 100GB of data over from my S21U.

All these new phones suffer from issues. Usually in the first few months the manufacturer works out many of the kinks in software patches and through pushing microcode updates to the onboard CPU, radio, etc via the OTA software update mechanism. Even your P6P will get better over time.

My S21U had issues and not so great battery life from day 1. After a few months, I loved the phone and the battery life got way better. Regardless of the rumored issues at Samsung's foundry, I suspect the S22 CPU will get better over the coming months, even the Exynos version.

I haven't experienced any lag or display issues on mine, but I have the Snapdragon version. Battery life is great too, even though I've been using it heavily today after getting it yesterday. I'm also only charging to 85%.

A few days on mine has settled down now other than the odd vertical scrolling stutter.

Once again though it looks like we get the short straw with the Exynos version. It has got the point now where I think Samsung should be made to differentiate the models.

Scrolling no lag.
Photo, short lag but no worse than my Pixel 4XL.

But only shot a few photos in Auto mode; I downloaded Expert Raw from the Galaxy store last night, and hopefully, today get some time to try it out. And then start shooting in pro mode.

I got the Exynos variant of the S22+ about a week ago and can confirm it's laggy as hell. A ton of frame drops and sometimes 1s+ long stutters that freeze the entire phone when switching between apps etc. My 3 year old mid range phone runs like butter in comparison.

Looking around it seems that it's mostly just people with the exynos variant that are complaining about drastic performance issues, so the SD version appears to be mostly fine.

I'm starting to wonder if I should cancel my order for UK Exynos variant. I pre-ordered a red one on 9 Feb, which was and still is showing a delivery date of 14 March, with no updates from Samsung 5 days later as to why it is delayed or how long for. Been so disappointed with Samsung recently that I'm considering switching to Apple. And I've had Galaxies since the S II. I hate iOS but at least performance is always smooth and they don't seem to be suffering from these big problems at launch. I still don't understand why we don't get Snapdragon phones in UK/Europe?

I'd definitely recommend waiting and seeing if Samsung fixes these issues before buying, for all we know there could be something inherently wrong in the design of this chip and it will never be fixed with software updates.
