Thank you for the tip about the animations! That was the one thing that really bothered me about the V30, coming from the Note 8. The phone felt like it took half a second to open apps and transition. I set the animations to .5 and now it flies!

Why not shut them off entirely?Thank you for the tip about the animations! That was the one thing that really bothered me about the V30, coming from the Note 8. The phone felt like it took half a second to open apps and transition. I set the animations to .5 and now it flies!
Yes, I'm going to keep the V30. Note 8 is going back. I love T-Mobile jump on demand!
Note 8 screen gets brighter, but it's unnecessary. The V30 screen is brilliant and more than bright enough. I love the sound through headphones, the size, the cameras, the fingerprint sensor, the design ,etc etc.
Enjoy .... One more thing is there a way you can switch on and off fast charging on the v30 like you can on Samsung ?
If it was just setup while you are there, the phone was still indexing and getting apps ready. Thats normal the first day you setup a device.OK, I spent another hour today at a different Verizon store, and since they didn't have the V30 on display, the rep grabbed one from a drawer and set it up so I could play with it. Had them next to each other for the first time, and there were few occasions where I did notice slight lag. Not Samsung bad, but a difference. I'm done comparing, will miss the headphone jack and Quad DAC, but 2 XL for me. Going all in on the Google Android experience.

By the way, battery life so far is amazing and better than the Note 8. I'd say comparable to the S8+
