Laggy phone

Okay...I thought it was just my Handcent SMS program but now the stock SMS is doing the same thing.

When typing into the text box...it isn't showing up until I hit send...I have no idea what I've typed until I hit send..that could be bad

also, when I push send, there is huge lag.....very laggy and a box sometimes pops up that asks me if I want to Force Close the application.

Any thoughts?

when did it start happening and what did u install right before it? have u tried to restart your phone?

Yes I have done a battery pull, and no new apps installed. Weird huh? It is intermittent as well.

That happened to me sometime back when I tried Handcent on my Evo, the phone became laggy and remained so even after unsintalling the app. Did a factory reset and reloaded all the other apps and that solved the problem for me.

Well is not that painful with the Nexus...

If you have the back up data option on (Settings > Privacy > Back up my data) the phone will recover most data/settings (and I also heard apps) after a factory reset. Your Gmail account will restore all your contacs and calendar data and the factory reset won't erase your SD storage.

If you want to be sure all your apps are restored, load AppBrain from the market and sync your currently installed apps with the AppBrain server. After you do the factory reset, install AppBrain again and log in, your current app list will be recovered and be ready for almost automatic installation.

I use MobilGo for backup. It backups everything on your phone including your apps. You can also do it wirelessly if you have a hard time getting your computer to recognize the phone. You put both MobileGo programs on your phone and your computer and you're good to go.
