Laptop does not reconize my Galaxy S4

When I plug my phone into my laptop I get a notice that the device is not recognized. Does anyone have a solution for this as I'd really like to put the photos I've taken onto my laptop

Have you downloaded the drivers for the S4 to your laptop?

What have you done so far?
