Hi everybody,

I have had my Thunderbolt for a bit over a year now and have never rooted anything before... but now I would like to root it so that I can use Titanium on it. I've read a bunch of the stuff that came up on google but it seems there are a several methods out there now and it's hard to tell what is the latest and best way to go about this. Can anybody suggest?

Thanks!

So I ran the unroot script to undo everything in preperation for sending the phone in for replacement. Everything went perfectly smoothly up until the point where it had flashed everything and rebooterd and verified... and then says it is looking for the device. At that point it just hangs there. The program said you may have to unplug your phone and plug it back in.. I tried that, but it still just hangs there. Here is a screen shot of where I was in the process. Any ideas?

lol... ok... never mind. All is well. I finally went into settings and UNSET usb debugging and then RESET it. Immediately, the phone was found and the script finished.

Thanks!

Hi, I'm new to this rooting....I was reading over your thread and found you tool. I have an anti virus running, should I disable this? once it is rooted, can I still run the AV or should I just get rid of it all together? Once done, do I need to go back in and unck debugging mode and stay awake? How long does this roughly take? Sorry for all the questions, but I am so afraid of bricking and just want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I start....Thanks in advance.

Antivirus shouldn't mess with it.

And leaving those settings enabled will probably help you in the future.

Should take maybe 10-15 mins from start to finish.

Thanks for your reply....are you currently on? I think I'm going to attempt to root. I'd feel more comfortable is you were on in case I had any questions.

Thanks
