latest ICS UCLF5 leak

Cwm version. Use the basic version don't use the version 5 it will cause shutdown issues

As a test, I used one click to load ICS UCLF5, then Odin to load the CWM boot loader.
Next I did a backup. I shutdown and booted up a couple of times and the power always turned off at the end of the shutdown. Next I just restored the backup of UCLF5 that I just did. Now it will not power down at the end of shutdown. There was no other version of the OS in this scenario. I think that I have the latest version of CWM recovery in the boot loader. Also, I can restore other versions of ICS like CM9 and AOKP and the turn off power. It seems to be function of this leak of UCLF5 and the backup/restore process. Has anyone seen this problem?

OK I figured it out. I am now using CWM recovery "touch" version 5.8.1.3 . Now when I do a restore everything works correctly!

how's GPS working for everyone on this leak? I'm still having GPS issues, what happens is when i flash the leak GPS locks fast for a first few times. then later It starts malfunctioning and it may take up to 5 minutes to get the fix or sometimes it doesnt lock at all So i have used a Darkside superwipe and flashed this leak like three times. Right now I flashed back to 2.3.5 GB and want to monitor GPS behavior for a while to narrow down the problem. I may have a faulty GPS module but wanted to see if anyone has simular issues on this leak.
thanks.

I'm not sure but yesterday while running 2.3.5 GB, there was one time when the phone took a bit too long to lock. Anyhow I am back to UCLF5 right now and try to use GPSFix app. it seems I have to restart my phone after downloading the GPS data from it but it doesn't always work.. I'm inclined to think I might have a faulty unit, although it used to work just fine when I initially got it a couple of months ago (it was a warranty exchange) starting to wonder if flashing Roms back and forth might have messed it up... I haven't dropped my phone or anything like that...

I updated via Kies by doing the following:

1) Download kies from Transfer, Sync & Manage Music, Movies, Photos, Contacts and Calendars with Kies
2) Restart phone in D/L mode
3) Start Kies
4) Click on Tools --> Firmware Upgrade & initialization
5) Entered S/N from the back of the phone
6) Entered Model --> SGH-I727
7) Received pop-up indicating "The device can be initialized to its original settings. All settings and data will be deleted , and the latest software version will be installed. Do you want to proceed with the firmware upgrade and initialization?"
8) Clicked OK
9) Pop-up received indicating Initialized version and indicating "Now initializng to the latest version...Do you want to proceed?"
10) Click OK

Kies works it's magic (if that's possible :D)

Updated to what??
I connected to Kies and followed these steps and all it did was set it BACK to 2.3.5. Unless I'm mistaken 2.3.6 is current until ICS comes out or use one of the other ROMs.

I'm having issues with my GPS as well, it takes a long time to pick it up. If I restart the phone while GPS is on, it picks up the signal instantly. With all of the other features this build gives me, the having to restart to get GPS to work is not a deal-breaker.

Thanks for confirming that! so it looks like the problem is with the modem version in this leak, in particular with the GPS module. my GPS seems to be working on GB... well too bad.. it means I cannot use this leak will have to go back to GB, btw when I restart the phone on this leak 90% of the time it still does not fix the issue. Already called ATT for a warranty exchange device...

I am testing to see of I see the bug however it works first time every time for me. I will post more if I see the bug.

I do see a problem with the VPN. I think that it is a know bug in ICS.

Issue 23124 - android - Can't connect to VPN (nexus s - ice cream sandwich) - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

I am hoping someone will come out with a patch.

thank you guys for your responces and feedback. I've restored my phone to the official 2.3.5 version using the .tar file from sammobile.com by flashing it via Odin. the difference in the stock tar from sammobile is that it doesn't trigger the flash count and it updates with the proper radio after which you can successfuly do an OTA update to 2.3.6. so if anyone needs to do a complete restore go to sammobile.com register and enter the model SGH-I727 and download whatever version you need (AT&T or Rogers) or you can use this link to get these files immediately: xda-developers - View Single Post - [HOWTO]: restore to official stock firmware w/sammobile: ROGERS and ATT(june24/2012)
Edit:
The instructions above are for those people who are not able to restore through Kies for various reasons.

No GPS problems noted here so far, and I'm a heavy user (road bike app). I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I see any idiosyncracies.

Regarding the UCLF5 leaks, for GPS problems, see if "Allow mock locations" is checked in developer options. If it is, uncheck it. USB debugging is also checked in my SKY ICS build also. I unchecked them both.

This version has exceeded my exceptions for sure. Easily as stable as GB, better battery overall and definately sleeps MUCH better with very little battery loss. Bluetooth has been much better also with no drops and better audio quality. GPS has been flawless as well for me and I use it for running, golf apps and maps. So far its been amazingly good.

Mine works just fine. This build is the most stable I've seen yet

thanks guys, I'm still not sure if it is a problem with my phone or with this leak (or with this leak on my phone) The GPS on 2.3.6 GB seems to be working fine. But I should be getting an exchange unit on monday and will have an opportunity to test it...

Not sure if its my phone or uverse router, but wifi signal is weak! 1 bar at 3 ft away...
