One thing I miss about my Samsung phones is the ability to personalize the device, like the themes and such. Does anyone else use a launcher and which ones are the best?

nova is probably the best, most popular and smoothest overall.
I always have a few different launchers set up and ready to go anytime like I feel a change would be nice. using Nova atm. an hour from now might be a different one. tons of them to choose from.

Another vote for Nova. As much as I love my Pixel 2 XL, I still think the Pixel Launcher is a bit too restrictive as well.

I don't use any (just the Pixel Launcher that comes with the phone) but if I was going to use one it would be Nova Prime.

I use the Pixel Launcher, but Nova Prime would be my choice as well.

Give it a try. I like being able to get rid of the Google search bar widget and the clock/weather/agenda widget, replacing them with things I prefer. And I also like changing up icon packs.

I used to use Action Launcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionlauncher.playstore for a long time, until suddenly after the Oreo update on my Nexus 6P it was causing massive battery drain. I'm sure they've fixed the problem by now but I haven't gone back yet.

Does the Microsoft Launcher work on the Pixel 2 or is it locked to Google?

Get Nova Prime or Microsoft Launcher. Both are awesome. Microsoft edges it for me these days though as it's a little bit different, looks and feels awesome and it gets new features and updates constantly

You can put the search bar on Nova too. Lol. And the bar is even customizable.
