Just recived my g3 back from repairs days ago because it had a yellow patch sort of stain on the lcd and ever since receiving the phone back i keep finding myself searching for more yellow.. So tonite i downloaded a plain white wallpaper to set as my homescreen wallpaper and wacked the brightness to 100% and my gosh the quality of the panel is disgusting, i mean not 1 bit of the screen is showing a proper white and the top half of the screen is even more yellow than the bottom. Any advise on what i can do as its a expensive phone and im not happy with the quality of the panel wich lets face it was the top selling point

This is my phone next to my tablet.. My tablet is the lg gpad 7 wich has a miles cheaper pannel than my phone but as you can see both devices set to 100% brightness with the same white wallpaper but the phone has a bad yellow shade of white and has that dark shadow towards the bottom.. And to my eyes the gpad has a higher brightness output.. This isnt right is it?

I've noticed you have had a string of bad luck with the screen within the month.. I give you props man for getting through it! I know the feeling especially on a phone you love

Lol yea i feel like a winge but its a flagship phone i shouldn't have to settle for a **** poor display, especialy when my £110 tablet out performs my £400+ phone.. Think im going to take it back to geeksquad at carphone warehouse and tell them im not happy with it

I don't blame you.. I checked mine out of curiosity with 100% brightness and i had no yellow

Yes, my panel is fine.

The title of this thread reminded me of the OnePlus One that has been plagued with yellow screen tint. Actually, the Nexus 6 also has shown to have this problem as well.

Ive seen reports of the nexus 6 having suvere screen burn, btw i got another g3 and its not perfect but its better than the other one was. I looked at 3 g3s and all had yellow tint apart from the one i choose so it must be something to do with the calibration

Interesting. I've seen a few G3's now and none have had anything close to what you posted. They've all been great with color.

Now the over-sharpening, I have seen that a lot. Luckily it's only a software issue.

Are u in the uk or are u in the us

The USA. The only G3's I've seen in person are several Verizon ones, a T-Mobile one and a pair of AT&T ones. None of these are floor models in stores, but actually people who own them. The screens are just as good as mine, which is not yellow tinted at all.

It's like a supply/manufacturing issue with a batch of phones where you are, perhaps. Seems quite upsetting.

Ahh i see well im in the uk and mine was free with a 2 year agreement on the 3 network so maybe its just a manufacturer problem.. I seen somewere that lg had aswell as making there own panels had a other manufacture aswell called jrd i think and it seems like the jrd panels are the ones with the problems suffering with yellow tint and bad brightness output so maybe my old g3 had the jrd screen.. All is well now though as having the new g3 for a sevral hours the whites look alot cooler and as far as i can see theres no yellow

Yes, I read this information as well. It would explain the dim screens, and discoloration that you're having.

Glad you're working with a good phone, now. Flagship material? lol

Lol yes it now feels like i have a flagship fit phone, about time really as ive had nothing but messing around to get a good unit.. I hope that when the lg g4 comes available it doesn't suffer the same cr@p but hopefully lg make there own panels in future
