Imagine a phone with a slide-QWERTY that had another screen flip out on a hinge to be more tablet-sized when you wanted it. And then you had the option of still using the keyboard, or sliding it back under the main screen and just using the touch screen. It'd be the freakin Transformer of phones lol
I used to work at Sprint, and I have some friends that still do. Only one knows what they're launching and he won't tell me. What he WOULD tell me is that it's not a 3D device. He actually went to a tech convention of some sort last year and saw a glassless 3D device - even posted how cool it was on Facebook - but he told me it absolutely is not that.

Not 3D- good to know. We can cross that one off. And granted, it is a little early for that kind of thing to be popping up already- probably more towards the end of the year, but if it was 3D, I was expecting them to show off more of a working prototype, and then release later in the year, like they did with the Evo.
I'm on the verizon family plan so it makes no sense to go to another carrier money-wise. BUT, if it were something like this, I would not -care-. This would be freakin incredible.
Ok I figured I would create a new thread on this due to some info I received today. Yes there are other threads speculating on what Sprint might be announcing on the 7th, but there isn't one that has any concrete device info. Since I believe I have come into some of that afore-mentioned info, I figured I'd get the chatter going and get people's thoughts. So here goes..
-The announcement IS a device- no plan restructuring or anything (like they need more of that with how much they pissed off everyone today with that we're-now-gonna-charge-you-an-extra-$10-for-data-even-though-you're-already-paying-for-unlimited deal.
-It has large screens- think somewhere between the Evo and the Galaxy Tab.
-It actually has dual screens- there's a primary one but then also a secondary screen that flips up from the back, like on a hinge.
-No word on what that second screen does, if it integrates with the primary screen to give you one big screen, or if you can run an app on each, or what. Sorry I couldn't get more details.
-No official word on if it's voice-capable, or if it's some kind of tablet/slate.
Now I know what you're thinking- there have not been any leaks on a device like that at all that we can remember. And I can't either. So if it weren't for hearing it straight from someone at corporate, in-person, I never would have believed it either. Flame me, shoot me down, PM me a death threat, do what you will, but I'm just passing on info I heard and trying to be helpful and get the ball rolling on what will hopefully be an awesome device. I have no reason whatsoever to lie or make this up, so.... Yea
Lots of posts recently have been theorizing that HTC has a 3D device coming out soon- could this be it? It does make sense with them tying in David Blaine to the event- illusions, eye tricks, etc. Thoughts, comments?? Has anyone seen any device rumored recently that this could possibly be??

God I hope not. That's just a smartphone version of the Motorola Krave. It does match the description though..
Ahh not that bad but im not a fan of the Chinese texting and that plastic screen crap with a space so you can text with a stylus but I do like how its hard front case housing with the speaker thing but I want to see a ruff sketch of it in pencil lol you like a user Manila with lines so we could see some type of shape sounds cool but who know when this will come or ever be shown like the HTC Evo **** it was rumors of the phone for about 5 months but took a while to be out to the public :-/

Instead of something that would be fragile as hell because of all the screen and hinges (sorry transformer phone says broken phone and having to pay $200 deductible to have it fixed) I'd settle for just a kick-ass upgrade to the EVO!
- 4.3 to 4.5 inch Screen with better resolution (prefer the IRIS display over the Super AMOLED as things don't look as if they just robbed Pixar. But either would be nice as the current EVO is just dull compared)
- 10 MP Rear Camera and 3 MP Front Facing with 1080P video
- Light/Proximety Sensor to help with screen efficiancy
- Dual Core processor
- Android 2.3
- Swype
- NEW HTC SENSE
- At least 8 mb on board memory

That would be a pretty sick device. Except I wouldn't go with anything less than a 2000 mAH battery if you're gonna throw a dual-core in there. Now if it only came in Big Red LTE flavor

I love Big Red's coverage but I don't want to get nickled and dimed for navigation, tv, etc.... Just give me true unlimited!

There was a phone at CES that had two screens, the main one was a normal capacitive screen, and the second would flip over to form some sort of resistive screen that allowed for a stylus.
That particular phone was supposedly only for Asia, as the main purpose was to accommodate for all the extra characters in their languages, so I'm not sure if that is the same thing OP is referring to.

Most people don't use that stuff, so really Sprint's big advantage is Any Mobile Anytime, if you happen to need more than 450 minutes on the other carriers. Assuming people don't want Nav, TV, etc., Sprint is now only $10 less than Verizon, although obviously there will be upcharges for VZW 4G, while you get 4G for that price on Sprint if you want it. They're lacking in the device category though- 2 years with 4G and 3 phones. VZW has had it for less than 2 months, and already has more phones than them coming within 3-4 months. Sprint needs to kick it up on the device end if they wanna keep people on those plans

Ha. Nah.... I might consider it, seeing as there have been no leaks about this phone whatsoever, if I hadn't heard what I heard.
