I have 2 questions.

1. I'm completely stock but if I install this leak would I be able to get the official OTA one when it comes out from Verizon?

2. Will this wipe data(contacts, apps, etc)?


Stupid questions I know. I just don't wanna root this phone just yet.

1. You will not get the OTA but it is normally available to install in the same way this one is installed.

2. Pretty sure it will wipe your data. It did when installing leaks like this on the Thunderbolt.

These are not dumb questions. Since they were answered, some advice. I'd hold off on this if your not rooted. See how this pans out over the next handful of days. You are asking for a nightmare if you just jump in. If/when you do, backup contacts and apps. It will wipe everything. Be cautious of the urge b/c it is irreversible to revert back to stock GB 2.3.4 / Sense 3.5 unless you unlock and root and flash a stock RUU. I really stress this if you previously had no interest in rooting your Rezound and planned on waiting for the official ICS OTA to beckon.

I'm still running the original software on my Rezound as my phone is having issues pulling down the OTA update. I've been trying to troubleshoot the issue with the Rezound with Verizon and they put me in touch with HTC last night to troubleshoot the issue further. Basically said I will need to factory reset in order to get the OTA, but the HTC support person also said that if I'm happy with the phone the way it is, to wait a month or so as the ICS update should be coming soon.

I agree that's why I haven't personally installed this update, but no one is really giving any details about how the update is treating them.

You may not have the fancy new signal bar or VLA crapapp but you are a much happier person for not having that update. You just aren't aware of it, yet.

i for one loaded this up..and im extremely happy. Have had 0 problems..everything works like it should..4g is better..really cant complain. Also on ap there saying u still will get official ota because u didnt have to root to get this build..per Mr.Smith

tried everything i could think of..cameras work..recieving all emails..still its ur call..was a lil shaky myself..but must say im happy i did

They will be chiming in soon, sit tight. If not here, check xda devs periodically. Also, while this latest leak is new, almost all of it's content is already in widespread use on the Rezound via the previous ICS roms w/ Sense 3.6. This is just the most recent update which is touted, and likely so, as a near finish build.

I got the download, but, without a back out process (not rooted). I am going to wait for more feedback.

Checking the release notes for 4.0.4, I hope that is the build we get vs. 4.0.3. Faster boot would be really appreciated.

I noticed that it upgraded the radio. Even with root, I do not believe you can revert to the old radio, since you don't have s-off

Unless, of course, you own 1 of the 10 Rezounds w/ S-Off. Just saw that some dude that's selling one over on RootzWiki.

Yes you can. I did it

I have had this for 24 hours. So far I have had no issues with downloading apps, moving them to the SD card, 4g works great, call quality is good, etc. What I have noticed is that the battery seems to drain a little quicker than than what I'm use to. Some apps like Hulu does jot work at this time

The Vivid (and every single one of its cousins, all based on the Sensation) are getting 3.6.

Any guesses on eta for the ota lol? Or better yet, how long do you think it will take Verizon to give it to us after they have it and how many "surprises" do you think they will sneak in on it?

Do you think that there is any way they could disable the app disable feature? Because if they can they will and if they do I will be pissed. I want to be able to at least disable all the crap they put on here stock. If they do I will just root, but still...

I installed leaked ICS multiple times to check things out. Got the TAMPERED warning and did alot of messing around. The best thing about the leaked stock rom is that you can freeze/eliminate most any app, even VZN's pet apps. So for now, I'm ReLocked, stock, and a bunch of bloat doesnt start and cant be see in the app drawer. Verizonand HTC seems to be giving us alot more freedom with the ICS soon to be released. Some folks won't have to unlock their Rezounds anymore since we easily freeze out pesky junk.
