Leaked ics

Yes and no. You can still install the official update when it is released, just not via the standard OTA method. You'll have to download the .zip file & apply it the same way that this unofficial leak is installed. Either way it's a painless process, which doesn't require much know how to get it done. Which is nice for those who worry about the "r" word.

Painless? Until yesterday I was thinking so too. Did you look at XDA last night at all? OUT OF CONTROL with stupid. I think 2 dudes over there were trying to get 4 guys phones fixed because they were installing cleanrom4 without flashing the leak, or other simple things. I think we might be in the stage where we really start to get sick of people not following directions. Hopefully not, because the Devs will get really sick of answering the same thing over and over, and I don't want any of them to leave for that reason. This will be the reason not having s-off is going to piss me off, not the fact my life will be easier, but people just flashing crap with ruthless abandon.

Haven't checked in over there to peruse in a few days. Funny you mention this though, it'a a sore subject. I've been a bit perplexed since that survey was published reporting the increasing # of devs. fed up or growing tired of working w/ AOSP quickly, for a variety of reasons. I'm on the same page as you about people laying nonsense on the shoulders of the wrong party. It's bad enough that we lose alot of dev. rom support over time just by nature of the beast. Nonsense from end users shouldn't be one of the reasons they grow tired of support.

assuming that the OTA is the same as the leaked ruu, then you should be able to get the next OTA. If the leaked ruu isn't the same as the RUU, then you would have to download the OTA RUU and flash it.

Absolutely, but that's a bit heavy to breakdown to a newb (btw, hate using that word). I don't expect that will come into play, though. Cross that road if/when the bridge washes out

main issue I have seen so far is my qik video no longer works, no biggie, but I have noticed my Bluetooth doesn't work on calls, my notifications work, but cant use any calls for device, I have the Motorola elite sliver

So I finally made the leap to the leak and here are my impressions:

Pros:
- performance. Definite improvement in speed / smoothness in transitions
- voice to text. Love it! Huge improvement.

Issues:
- battery has gotten hot every time I use it for more than 15 minutes. 115F was the highest.
- battery life. Definitely worse in use. Standby is about the same, though.
- Noble network connection. I almost never lost 4G previously. Definitely losing data more often. Might have something to do with the previous two issues?

That is what I have experienced and what I have been reading. Get the list of issues fixed and we are golden
