They fail reading comprehension... They have this post as the source for their post. Engadget"Sadly, all this thinness comes from the fact that the HD will not be a 4G LTE capable phone. It will be a world phone, nonetheless."

Engadget said:We've just received a fascinating set of photos from a sharp-eyed tipster, who sent along images of what appear to be Motorola's Droid Bionic and, most alluringly, that rumored handset known as the Droid HD (pictured above). This isn't the first time we've seen leaked images of the Bionic in the wild, but these shots are certainly a lot clearer than any others we've come across. Still, there aren't too many surprises here, with the global-capable handset boasting a TI OMAP 4430 1GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 4.5-inch display, an 8 megapixel rear camera, and microUSB / HDMI ports.
The real intrigue, however, lies with the Droid HD. Judging from the photos, this device seems to be running Gingerbread, and rocks a 4.5-inch display (presumably with qHD or even 1280x720 resolution, considering the device's name), an 8 megapixel 1080p rear-facing camera, a front-facing shooter and the usual set of microUSB / HDMI ports. There's also a pair of side loading SIM and microSD slots on the left side of the device, a volume rocker and what looks like a power button on the right, a slight bump for the camera pod around back (which sports an LED flash and speaker, as well), along with a large, thin battery that appears to be removable. Perhaps most notable about the HD is its seemingly super thin design -- we're estimating it's between 8.5 and 9mm, which would put it in the same league as Samsung's Galaxy S II, which measures 8.49mm. We'll have to wait for more detailed information on this mystery phone, but you can get a closer look right now in the gallery, below.

I have questioned as much as anyone from day one if this phone will be LTE or not. I have been lead to believe by BMX's post and by Sussuro over at HOFO that it is in fact a LTE phone (however BMX said it was Next Gen LTE and Sussuro said that it's not). But as much as I would normally trust BMX on something like this, I am not getting my hopes up until I see some proof.
I believe this phone is being put out there to compete with the GSII and the I*hone. So it doesn't have to be LTE to do this (unless sammy suprises us). It plain and simple just has to be ultra Thin, have a "prettier" screen, and run very smooth. If they can manage LTE in that tight package, than look out.. Moto might have one hell of a holiday season.
Susurro over at HoFo said that devices won't start seeing 2d gen LTE chips until mid-'12, fwiw...
Moto JUST finished their first LTE radio with the Bionic. It seems quite unlikely that they have built a better chip already. I believe we are still a little ways out for 2nd gen chips.
I would think they had the first chip completed before the CES Bionic, roughly 20 years ago now. lol
Hopefully, they could have completed an updated version since. -fingerscrossed-
since Moto is only now putting it's own LTE chip in phones, we don't know how big it is or how much thickness it requires. thus, we can't say that the HD is too thin to accommodate an LTE chip. that Techie Buzz speculation has zero basis, especially since they don't cite any sources, but merely rely on the Engadget report (which is silent on the LTE issue). with cautious optimism, i will rely on the people who claim to have seen and tested the device, and they all say it is LTE. moreover, at this point, i can't envision Moto releasing any more non-LTE dual core devices, especially when the HD is generating so much buzz as a new flagship device.
Picture of a Verizon Cellbrite with Droid HD.
That may actually be the Droid 4 XT912.
The spyder is XT910 according to a HoFo poster who's handled both devices.
The Droid 4 is almost a year a way. There's no chance that the XT912 is it if its already in cellbrite.
