I had a magnetic leather case with strong leather covered metal belt clasp for my xv6800 that had the verizon logo on it. It fits my droid perfectly. HOWEVER,
it kept turning on because it would swipe by the magnet....I cut out the magnet and replaced with velco....works great...secure and easy in and out

Thanks so much everyone for your help on this. That Piel Farma (sp.) looks sweet. But, Uncle Sam doesn't give Soldiers an expense account... LMAO So I think I may be going with the Sena case. Thanks so much.

I know the feeling about that one! They really should seeing as how you have to have a phone all the time to get ahold of your soldiers, find out what's going on when your PSG is not there, and he's a retard anyway. Lol. Where you stationed at man?

In the case...is the screen faced towards you or facing out. I personally have a habit of putting phone in cases facing me....quicker for me to view incoming calls that way.

If it can face you without the magnet triggering anything, im sold.

i'm looking for a leather holster, but i want mine to be vertical! i cant believe all i can find for the droid is horizontal.. whats with that?

I can't vouch for quality because I don't have it (yet), but there's a vertical case on Amazon, the Bergamo vertical pouch case. It only has one review, which kind of glosses over any points I'd be interested in, but I'm looking for the same thing as you and this is what I came up with at a reasonable price.

I bought a vertical case of of eBay. The quality was great but they sent one for a blackberry. I should have another in route. It seems like a nice case with a swivel belt clip. It was <$10 too. It has a magnet but is supposed to work. The BB one did not trigger the car mode though. The clasp was not long enough so I can't vouch for it yet. Hopefully the replacement will get here tomorrow or Friday.

Well, I received this one today:

The case is nice and is similar to my Storm case but the magnet activates the car/desk mode unless the phone is put in one way. The sticker said it was a sidekick slide so I don't know if this was the right case or not. I will see what the seller says. I like the case but I wish it did not have to go in a particular way. I will have to think about it before I slide the phone into the case...

I found a cool case at wal-mart for about 15 bucks. Case Logic Universal Pouch Executive Series. Genuine Leather. Moto Fits Nicely and it slim and snug on the hip. Real slick. Its horizontal and also it does have the magnet to close. BUT after spending 30 minutes slipping the phone in and out of the case and holding it up to all angles of the magnet I had no Problems with Airplane mode or dock setting. works great surprised that it was at walmart!

I am currently using the dock blocker app with mine so I can put the phone in the holster in any direction. I don't own any real docks so that is not an issue for me.

The seller has not responded to my complaints...
