If you decide to unenroll from the beta program, at least for me, it doesn't roll you back to a stable release. I've waited over 24 hours for the OTA to roll back and nothing. I've re-enrolled and unenrolled to see if it my kick it to me and nothing.

Antyone else experience this? I have the Pixel XL.

I think you have to reset the phone to its original settings. At least that's want I had to do with my Pixel XL and 7.1.2 Beta.

I didn't think roll backs were possible with Android. I flashed the latest 7.1.2 image after I unenrolled.

When you unenroll you have to go to settings > about phone > updates... Download the downgrade. It will restore to 7.1.2

Done this numerous times. On a Verizon Pixel XL, it will NOT work. :( I tried flashing 7.1.2 and because the phone is locked, it would not work.

You have to unlock the phone before flashing, as root do

fastboot flashing unlock

then you can run the install script

flash-all.sh

UPDATE - The rollback from the Beta to 7.1.2 is working now for the Verizon Pixel XL. :)

what worked and how long did it take? I just enrolled in the beta, like I did for nougat, but the one game I play all the time (dominations) doesn't support it. I do not want to factory reset.

Yeah.. I never got that downgrade update either... To much of a hassle to go find it.. I"ll just leave the phone as is I guess.
