LED Flash

I just wanted to get some opinions of some owners. I had an Epic with a screen issue -- returned it and got one with a wobbly slide out. however, rather than return it to sprint i decided to send it to samsung for repair. My question is about the LED flash. I noticed the LED flash does not notify me unless the screen is black. Further, the warning is only for about 30 seconds then the flash stops and I am no longer warned. Is this how the device is built, or is this unique to the device I received?

It seems like a design flaw then-- Why would you notify someone of a message for a few moments; what is the point? At least do so for a period of an hour lol.

Check settings for notifications - there are blink levels, sounds, rings, vibrates, and lengths that can be set as you like.

Where? I've never seen anything that changes blink length.

I believe he's talking about third party messengers like ChompSMS and Handcent, which doesn't even matter because their notifications don't work either for the Epic.
