LED Light no longer works after Update?

I just did a S9 update on my phone yesterday and now I no longer get LED notifications working anymore. I was using "Light Manager" and figure since they migrated to "Light Manager 2" that I figured the original one is no longer compatible. The issue now is I can't even get the LED light to even flash without that app when I get a text or notification anymore.

Is there a way to fix that?

I don't want to use the "Light Manager 2" app as it seems there are a ton of issues with it, but even a generic flash for the LED would be good, but since the update on 8/12/2020, I can't get that LED to do anything other than show red when it's charging or green when it's 100% and that's all...

Why would you assume that an installed app would no longer work? Typically after an update, depending on the update, your device will alert you to app compatibility issues. If your device didn't prompt you to switch and the app itself didn't prompt you there was probably no reason to change.

Since you have a Samsung you might check the Galaxy Store for Edge Lighting or similar apps which give you more control and options with lighting and notifications.

@VidJunky: the app was taken off Google Play for the newer Light Version 2. So there hasn't been any updates for quite a long time, even with previous versions. I uninstalled it and want to do a fresh install and that's when I noticed it's no longer avaliable that's why.

@Mojave: I tried that one out yesterday acutually "the Lite" free version you have in the 2nd link and it didn't let me actually chose a unique color for a person when they text me. I just found it to only change the color when any text comes in and that was it (and I still couldn't get it to work). Maybe the pro version is better or maybe it does allow me to assign a unique color to a contact and I just didn't find out where that option was?

I have never set up a color for my contacts with LED Blinker. I only have set up a color for any text I receive from my Textra app and not for my contacts. Maybe to add a specific color to a contact is only available in the Pro version. The Lite version is limited in some of the things you can do. I had a small issue months ago when my phone updated to Android 10 and the dev was very responsive. So.....I would suggest you email the developer. Best of luck!

Thanks, I actually did some more research on it and watched a few videos on the app and noticed it doesn't actually change the physical light as the old "Light Manager" did, but makes it's own digital light on the screen. And yes, even in the description it's not designed to be used inside of other apps, just the notification of when that app has responded. So contacts would be just a single color and not individual contacts. Oh well, kind of a shame Androids have the ability to change the color of the physical LED light and then don't bother to allow you to access it in anyway other than an app...

Check the Galaxy Store, not Google play store, for the older light manager app. It works fine on my s9. I don't assign lights per contact tho so dunno if that would still work

And yes the older Light Manager is no longer on Play Store

You know the Galaxy Store is different than the Play Store correct?

I mentioned it, cdigga101 has mentioned it and you continue to refer to the Play Store. The Galaxy Store is a Samsung offering and you should be able to find it in your Samsung apps or in your app drawer.

I'm not a huge fan of Samsung apps but they do offer tools that work with their devices. Edge Lighting or one similar may help you solve your issue.

See shows you how often I actually download apps. I totally forgot there are the 2 stores and only think of the one. It is on there at least, but still doesn't work since the last update. At least I do have another option to look.

Edge Lighting I didn't like and think it was one of those things when I got my phone that was suggested to turn off because of the battery drain.

I'll explored the Galaxy Store more, thanks for pointing that out...
