LED Notification Light

On Android phones does the screen light up when you get a message? I really dislike that!

I know when using HandCent you can set it when you get a Text, the screen will turn on and have a pop up- the Stock Text app doesnt do this-

Why not make the entire phone casing a giant, multi-color LED? That would be sure to get your attention every time something happens.

Why would you hope for that my notification light is bright I have no problem seeing it in any lighting condition unlike the screen

Why would you hope for that my notification light is dim I have a problem seeing it in any lighting condition like the screen!

PS. he said bigger, not brighter. i agree, it is like the size of a pin head.

I can't imagine how anyone would think that it's no big deal to not have a notification LED. I love how with apps like handcent I can set a different color for each person in my contacts with virtually limitless choices. I don't have to even open my phone and I'll know exactly what the notification is and who sent it. I couldn't buy a phone without one no matter how awesome it is otherwise.

agreed, that LED notification is a very desirable feature--it's one of the few things I like about my BB. :)

I can't believe you guys are still talking about the LED light. :-! Yes its important that it has one and you can clearly see from the pics that I posted in the second post it does. Why is there still confusion.

Yes, I see the LED.I was asking about pop up notification, which is different. Sorry. I am hoping there are NO message pop ups!

Actually your pictures do not show the led, but android do so its all the same. Also people were asking if it is multicolor. The inc does not have multicolor and it kinda sux. I would like multicolor options for text senders and the like.

Uhhh...yeah it does. See the green light lit up to the left of the speaker?

There is no photo that Cyber Warrior posted a link to that shows a notification LED. the third post from Zandroid, definitely shows the LED lit green.

Its not lit up but if you can't tell that's the notification light then.... I wont even say it. Its more then obvious thats the notification light. That picture was posted within a few hours of the phone being announced.

I suppose you could quickly mistake it for some sort of censor, but it's too small and too "apparent" to be a sensor as far as I'm concerned.

that is the front facing camera. look at Zandroid's photo, it has the same sensor you are referring to and then to the left of that a tiny green spec. you absolutely cannot see it on the photos Cyber linked to.

when it is not lit up it is virtually invisible, you can barely, i mean literraly barely see it in the close up from Zandroid. dont tell me you can see it in the moto pictures.

But it will have an LED, right?

yes 100%. sorry for the confusion. if you will look on the third post of the thread from Zandroid. his top picture shows a little green led to the left of the speaker/camera cluster. that is the notification led. it is the only photo of any presented on this thread that visibly shows it.

After looking at it for a second time. I stand corrected. You are right. Like I said it was posted an hour after the phone was announced and was the only upclose photos of the phone at the time. The website was actually taken down 5 minutes after I posted that link. Either way from Zandroids photo its obvious it has a notification light.

10-4. no prob. its rare someone admits mistake on forums i visit. i wasnt trying to be a ****** just an ass! :)
