Does it surprise anyone else that there isn't an app to set up different LED notifications like there are for blackberry?

Oh, but there is. It's called Tasker. It's a pretty complex program, but you can set up an LED notification for just about anything, not to mention the 1000 other things you can program your phone to do with it. BTW, if your phone has multiple LED colors, you can use any color your phone supports.

Tasker is a beast. Still learning how it works, but what an awesome program.

Tasker is really nice but there is a less costly alternative:

Green = missed call (default in system)
Blue = SMS via the Handcent App (free download)
Red = Gmail via the GMail Label Notifier app (paid but reasonable and I highly recommend it)

K-9 mail let's you pick a color as well. Handcent has a ton of colors, too.

Love SMS Popup for that but getting dual notifications since I installed it, still trying to figure out why...love the LED color choices tho

You need to make sure you turn off all notifications in your email program(s).

Open text messaging and disable notifications in there

Blink did not work for me. Sometimes it never worked, and when it did, it was not the color I chose, it was still just the standard green. :/ So I just use Gmail Notifier now and it has never failed. I love my pink LED! :) By the way, I believe there is also a blue LED for the Facebook app. So I have my multi-colors just by using those. Only thing I wish for is a red LED when my battery is low! Then I'll be completely happy.

The system will automatically blink a red LED when your battery is at 15% or less.

Thanks, Walden! Never let it get down that far I guess, because I can't say I've ever noticed that. Sounds good!

I wonder why blink works for some and not for others...sounds like a good app in theory, but has never worked for me...stock droid x 2.3
