Less tabs = less lag

First of all, by far the most aggravating thing about sense on this phone is the lag when opening the app drawer IMO. Thus could very well be a placebo effect, but I tried removing all of the tabs like frequent and downloaded (i don't use then very much anyways) and it seems that a considerable amount of the lag is gone. Just thought I'd share my experience. Try it and share if you notice any difference

Maybe you don't experience it, but the app drawer seems to jerk open the first time, and then slide up smoothly any subsequent times after that

I only experience this lag when I first open the drawer after booting the phone up. I would hardly call it frustrating though. I did however remove those tabs after viewing this thread. Not to get rid of said lag... But because I don't use them ever and I wasn't aware I could get rid of them. Thanks lol

I have to admit, I looked also and had no idea you could remove them or change them. I think that was added in 4.0 because I am pretty sure on the 3D and before, that was not something you could change.

Won't matter to me however I do wanna re-arrange my icons in the app drawer to my favorite one in order

Well I'm glad I could help in that way lol, it's just strange because I've seen this in every video iv watched with either the one x, the one s or EVO LTE so I assumed it would be there for the majority of people

Cool, didn't know you could mess with those. I think it's just a matter of opening it for the first time after having the screen off for me since I believe my ROM underclocks when I do that, possibly just after a reboot or power on for stock. I've tried with and without the tabs and the first time is a bit jittery for me either way.

Yeah the app drawer has that lag when you first open in...but then do it again and its gone. Not sure what causes the hitch.

I'm using nova launcher now however and that lag is greatly reduced.

I think I might have found the solution. I tried removing all sense widgets and that seemed to do the trick for me. Kinda sucks though because I love the weather clock and toggles that come with sense

Are you really removing things from the phone because the app drawer lags once per boot? Do you restart every twenty minutes that it bugs you that much? Or is it a persistent problem?

It's not just at boot, and it's every time I exit from being in an app for more than several minutes

I never have any hardly anything I would think of as "lag" in the app drawer... I just tried it and it came up in perhaps 1/2 second. Then went to home and tried again and it was instant. Is this the "lag" you speak of? If so, that just doesn't bother me.... and trust me, I am REALLY picky about such stuff. Besides, I rarely even use the app drawer, anything I use on a regular basis is either already loaded or on one of the home screens.

I get 2 seconds lag from the sense weather animations but even that don't bother me cause 2 seconds ain't nothing
