Ok, so there isnt anyone who wants this phone more than i do, lets consider all the possibilities.

releases April 28th, like BMX implies, the preferred date, carries alot of weight cause BMX said so.

gets delayed till early June, sucks but ill suck it up and wait,as long as im sure itll release

gets canceled, like some rumors have suggested from people that are suppose to be reliable, totally opposite from what BMX says.

gets canceled, and Targa moves up and releases in July.

I dunno the point of this thread, just needed to say something, cuz this day has been confusing.

Long day is over... I think I understand where this cancelled news is coming from. still cant believe that verizon would be so... misguided, but alot lately has shocked me. I have to confirm with some moto people and some folks on my side.

If so.. guess some folks get collector items to go with their Merge devices... lol

Fanning the hysteria? By simply providing the OP with the latest post from BMX? Wow, you're too funny. Not sure how you're mind interpreted his post either, but it's pretty obvious that it's an acknowledgment that the rumors of the Bionic's demise are indeed a possibility and that he's looking into it further for confirmation. That's a LOT different than his previous assertion that it was still on schedule and that there was no way in hell it would be cancelled.

Oxn, I'm not sure I'd push up Targa if I were them. The Targa seems set to square up against the iPhone5 almost perfectly (and whip it good too if they really polish it) and that seems like a better place to position it then trying to launch just a month or so after the DX2 and D3. Samsung and HTC seem to have the VZW large screen 4G market pretty sewn up at the moment, why try to push a launch date up into an already saturated market?

Why fret over something that: A) probably won't occur, and B) something over which you have no control. I suggest simply waiting for OFFICIAL news, rather than getting all stressed out. The internet is FULL of misinformation. Take a deep breath.

I got an email from Verizon saying the Bionic was still upcoming and was pending a release date. Even if they are lying, they are at least saying something.

In short they said "The Droid Bionic was announced as a 2011 upcoming device from Verizon Wireless at CES in January (full release attached). At this time, we have no further updates to share. I will certainly keep you posted once we hear a sales date."

It's not a guarantee, but it's not their usual "no comment". Maybe they are in the dark also, waiting for Motorola to say something.

Its a pretty safe bet the Bionic as we all have come to know it is defunct. So they are right. Not to say another device won't come along and fill its shoes.
