Some of these SDOF photos are fantastic, giving an almost Pro Portrait bokeh look. I take it these are taken in Auto?
Just out of curiosity, is there a way to get the camera to use a WIDE depth of field when want it?

No that's a natural element of the physical size of the sensor and aperture. You would have to back up to hopefully get more in focus but it does make for easier(sometimes accidental) portraits without the fake software used.

I took this pic, but looking at the glare, I wonder if it's due to the case that I have on it? Or is it just the wrong angle? I have the ghostek clear case that semi encloses the lens...

I think the lens flare is a known issue with the phone. I've read some speculation that it could be corrected via a software patch, but I'm not sure.

I hate when it does this. It was happening to me a lot when I tried posting multiple photos. Things seemed fine for a while now.

Guess I'll find out when I get the Pixel. It would be nice to have a a shallow DOF for portraits and wide DOF for when you want more than one element in focus.
