Here's another one. This little one tends to sit on top and guard the feeder, chasing off others that want to feed. Luckily there are two feeders so it has a hard time protecting both. What a turd.

Also, did someone say hummingbird? We have one that's been with us all summer. He likes to peek inside the window and see what we're doing. Like he'll fly up and hover right in front of the window looking in.

Our cats like to watch the hummers (maybe licking their lips) and the hummers like to fly up and taunt them.

In keeping with the current popularity of bird photos here, I'll add a couple of recent shots that some might find amusing . . .

I snapped this one of the Colonne de la Vigne et du Vin (Column of the Vine and Wine) at Place de la Victoire in Bordeaux, France, about 10 weeks ago. At first glance, I thought it appeared as if a gigantic bird was about to collide with the column:



This is a more recent photo of an entourage of seagulls following the shrimp boat marine life educational excursion we were on at St. Simons Island, Georgia, about three weeks ago -- they were obviously eager for the net to be lifted in hopes that a few tasty seafood treats might squirm out:

My wife and I had a great time, traveling around from city to city exclusively by train. The country is ridiculously beautiful, and also quite fascinating considering the mix of languages and cultures.
