Let's keep this thread simple, but if you know of links to those who do a lot of the work here (like gunnermike53, DroidXcon, Adrynalyne, Sheepdog Elite, Cory Streater, JaeKar99, Landshark and many, many more), please put those links in this thread so we can all contribute to them for all of their tireless efforts. I have read a ton, learned a TON, and now made my phone something that I can actually tell people I LOVE and mean it! :)

Like I said, please post the links - even if it is just a paypal address, so we can contribute to them. Thanks - don't be shy if this is you, MANY people deserve thanks and I don't know where to start but want to help them for all of their tireless hours.

Here are the 2 whom others praise above all else so far.

Adrynalyne

DroidXcon

i appreciate the thought. however i dont personally bieleve that i have done anything to deserve a donation. i have just passed along knowledge i have gained through trial and error, and knowledge i have gained from others. i help because i was once taht noob that bricked his phone and crapped his pants. everyone that you mentioned spends a lot of time helping others, but only adrynalyne actually developes for us. i all the big players would agree with me.

i will say its nice to hear that the time i put in is appreciated. so thank you for this, and yes, we need to support the developers.

I completely agree with Gunner. Adrynalyne is a developer, and an amazing one at that, and deserves compensation for all the tireless work he does to make our phone as good as it is now. I personally have not done anything to make everyone's phones better. Like Gunner I just spend a great deal of time here sharing information and helping people for several reasons: 1) I just genuinely like helping people, 2) When I first rooted, DroidXcon spent countless hours banging his head against the wall holding my hand to guide me through the process of rooting, so I am just paying forward the favor that was done for me, 3) The time that everyone puts in here to answer questions and help people frees up the developers to concentrate on creating ROMs and fixes for our phones 4) I am already compensated for the time I put in here by learning new things and getting information from other members, and by getting to interact with and getting to know a little each of the members I help and from whom I learn. I think DroidXcon deserves compensation for all the work he has put in to develop the all-in-one ODIN packages which make it so easy for first time rooters. I donate to Adrynalyne and I also donate to the theme developers who do good work. I'm just a guy who gets to have fun chatting with a ton of great people from all over. But thank you very much for the kind thoughts and appreciation. Probably the best way to compensate us is to follow in our footsteps as much as you can and help each other out and contribute to the forums in any way you can. That will keep these Fascinate forums as awesome as they are.

EDIT - I hope AC doesn't mind because he is not active here, but I felt it necessary to mention jt1134 over at XDA. He is responsible for the current version of clockworkmod recovery we are all using to flash ROMs, themes, and patches. And I believe Adrynalyne works with him a lot.

I have to join the chorus... I am of the same thoughts as both Landshark and gunnermike53.

I truly appreciate the thought and thanks that I have received. Both by direct thanks or by the pressing of the 'thanks' button..

I do not feel I am deserving kind of any donation. My take on it is; I love helping people, and have some experiences that may help someone get out of a jam or make their phone work better. I enjoy sharing that experience and if it gets me a 'thanks'. That is all I need.

I also agree that there is a very good culture of respect and guidance that has developed here where people are honestly helping one-another fix their phones and sharing their expertise. Keep that sense alive and that is great donation to me.

I wouldn't feel right taking money unless I was like DXC and spent hours on gtalk with people holding their hand when things really went south. In such an event I think a cup of coffee would be super welcome.

That being said I vote for DXC to get a coffee fund link! He's truly a tank, and these forums would be considerably less _______ without him.

My services I provide freely because I think it's fun and entertaining to learn by helping others :-)

Definitely DXC should start one... and spend the money on his significant other to make up for all the time spent here!

:-)

Agreed - I know he has a job, but he spends so much time helping others and his instructionals w/ pictures could help anyone feel comfortable.

Agreed. No doubt in my mind I would be on stock right now if it wasn't for how simple he made his froyo packages

And just to throw it out there, definitely donate to adrynalyne. He's the man, and anyone who says otherwise doesn't have a fascinate.

Ok you all ...I just finished reading this thread and I got a suggestion, the major players of this forum are quite humble and I respect that, so here is what you can do. Give a donation to the salvation army in their name. "This one's for the gunner" or for the sheepdog or yet "there's a buck for driodx". Why the salvation army? Cause 90% of their donations go to help folks. You make the choice. I know what I'm gonna do... this one's. For you guys...

BTW I am no way affiliated with the salvation army. If you like, throw couple extra bucks in the plate at church. Donate in their name.

Even better idea. I like it. Up the charitable contributions on the homefront. I will join you in doing that in the name of my compadres.

Thank you all very much , i love being here and helping everyone. having everyone happy with their phones makes me happy in and of itself

That's a great feeling, isn't it?
If you really want to do something neat, you and Andrenalize (a little def leppard reference) Gunner, the Sheepster, Kurgan99 tell us your favorite charities.

Also folks who are dropping the dime, no amounts in posts. Its not about how much.
