Ok, all the talk about the missing removables is boring me to tears, so let's talk about the new feature instead. MST, the tech that allows the Galaxy S6 to interface with magnetic stripe readers. Personally I think this is the #1 new feature on the device. I'm wondering if it will work through cases though, and what the specific range is. Obviously it's "near field" but I don't know just how near.
Eventually Samsung is going to have to expand it beyond the S line, get it into the Active and the Note...if Samsung Pay picks up then they can sell MST modules to everyone else to increase acceptance and use of Samsung Pay, or keep Samsung Pay as a hook to get people to move to the various Samsung devices. I'm curious about which way they'll go actually, that may actually be a big decision for Samsung. Sell their secret sauce and make money off of Samsung Pay, or keep it as a hook to get people to buy Samsung over HTC, LG, and Moto?
