where did you grab the download..i went to the mozilla site and i was told that my device is not supported...

Dolphin HD.

The gestures thing annoyed me at first till I learned how to use it. Customize some of the gestures, play w/ it a lil and you'll like it...makes browsing fast. More browsers should have this feature.

The tabs of course is another dope feature. The Add-ons are pretty cool too.

Cons: Cant watch any videos on msn.com : (

Dolphin HD for the tabs if nothing else. Been rock solid for me and I'm a heavy web user.

Although I don't know how the stock browser was before froyo, but I would say that the stock browser is the best. No complicated features.

I don't see any problem with the stock browser. I've tried the other browsers and didn't think much about them. I don't see the point in using more memory for something that's not any better than what's built in. I use Peep to, why use up more memory when there's nothing wrong with what's built in. I use the stock Facebook app also.

Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk.

The stock browser is good but it lacks in bookmark organization. It would be nice if you could group bookmarks into specific topics.

Stock works fine for me. I've tried most others and don't see any very compelling reason to switch.

I really like the Stock browser. But I came from a blackberry, so my expectations were probably low to start with. LOL

Compare Dolphin with stock on video quality

Just discovered the Dolphin HD browser and did a comparison test on speed of website page openings and video playback. I was actually shocked at how much better the Dolphin is on my EVO 4G compared to the stock browser on video quality. I went to the CNN mobile website and picked the same videos of the chaos in Egypt and played several first using the stock browser, then using Dolphin. I found the videos to be very noticeably, actually amazingly better quality using Dolphin. For me the speed of navigating from one website to another and page loading was comparable, and I seemed to alternately think one was slightly faster than the other and it was very subjective. The surprising thing was that there was no comparison on smoothness, colors, and overall clarity between the two when streaming video. Dolphin was far, far better. I showed it to my wife and she also immediately saw the huge difference between the two. I then went to one of my local TV news sites and did the same comparison tests on the same videos from there using both browsers, with the same results. Dolphin HD was very superior.

Obviously from this test the EVO hardware is capable of rendering very smooth and sharp streaming video playback quality, but it looks as though the stock browser is limiting that quality and Dolphin somehow makes tremendously better use of it. Very impressed with it. Having only been an EVO owner since Christmas, 2010, I didn't realize until now that it's capable of better streaming video quality than what I have been seeing before discovering Dolphin HD.

I had also tried the Miren browser as an alternative to the stock one or to Dolphin HD, but I personally didn't care for the overly simplistic interface of Miren and the lack of add-ons (plug-ins) compared to Dolphin. Fast enough to be sure, but it just looked and felt like a stripped-down version of a full-featured browser.

That's subjective .. For me, the stock browser perform the same way.

Each individual comparison varies.

Thanks for the reply, but no subjectivity involved on what I'm seeing on streaming video quality, and after running more comparisons from different websites. Absolutely back-and-forth on page loading speeds, I could go either way, but the video quality on my particular device running at the moment a 3G connection speed was hands-down better by a large margin using Dolphin.

Go with whatever works best for you, of course.

I was in love with the stock browser for awhile...then I gave dolphin mini & HD a fair chance and I ended up using HD for my default.

I enjoyed tabs, being able to have more than 4 windows open if I need them, ease of staying in full screen (one reason I didn't like dolphin at first was screen space taken up by the tabs and url bar), gestures are handy, and the ease of getting to bookmarks & settings by swiping left or right.

I used to love opera as well, but found I enjoyed dolphin more. As for speed, I don't find it slow - the only lags I find are sure to poor signal our no wifi/4g signal.

Having said that, only ever explored opera & the dolphin family - never tried skyfire or the others

how that helps!
