Letter fell off my htc one so upsetting...

It was like white with a small crack shaping the letter. I cant explain it, but it looks like they planned on having letters snap on, but oh well. They f'ed up.

They did but your getting a replacement so it's all good. Sometimes you get a lemon.. It happens. I am used to issues like this sometimes because I order a ton from Newegg and sometimes you get a part that's DoA (dead on arrival) and have to send it back to get another. With technology stupid stuff can happen... Of course it can make you mad but as long as the company honors the mess up.. Your good to go.

True, a little funny how people want to claim theirs are not glued in, and that since his are, his must be fake.

But, I think he did think that we should be upset that the letters are glued in and not somehow milled from the aluminum billet and polished in place. I think that is asking a bit much myself.

I am disappointed to learn that the surface under the letters is not finished, but perhaps they will never fall out and it wont be an issue.

It has gotten to the point that I take pictures of all issues I have that are visible, be it condo, landscape, electronics, or whatever. A picture is worth a thousand words, and is hard to refute. I've only learned this with age, however.

This thread is an example of what smartphone devices are like nowadays. Someone posts a complaint and wants everyone to be upset with them, other users refute the claim and call BS on the OP and then it goes back and forth to nowhere. I am unsure if the intent was to let users know of a possible problem or just to rant and hope everyone else agrees. In either event, I think both sides were extreme in their responses LOL. OP, sorry about your issue. Hope you get a new device soon. My advice to you since you appear to be new, is to not come off so combative as you see the results from other users. And my advice to others is to not quickly dismiss everyone's claims. While I do understand there are reasons, I think our time would be better served trying to help solve and not make it worse. Just my thoughts.

Asking someone else to be upset regarding this issue may be a bit much, and honestly, the set up of the letters, stickers or no, is not a big deal in my eyes. But if they are going to use stickers instead of a polished cut out, they can atleast insure that the stickers will stay on.

The problem is trolls will lie and make up the most ridiculous statements to try to get a rise out of everyone..
The letters are basically in the phone! There isn't a way that at least I see where they could possibly fall out... Take a pic with any defects so others can try to help or else is just a rumor

The first thing I would have done is take a picture of the defect before I tried to fix it. All I can say is that if these are stickers, the milling and the cut out of the stickers are amazingly precise on mine. Good job HTC :)

I don't have to try or prove anything.. You're the one opening a thread on a subject that No one had ever heard or seen with no proof of what occurred.. I'm not saying it didn't happen but there has to be a way to show members in the forum what occurred so that we can prevent it as well as help with a solution..

Did you not see the post where another user stated they could see the adhesive of the letters? And he also posted a picture. I just think people jump to the chance to bash others too quickly.

The op posting a picture means nothing, this reminds of that guy who said his Samsung S3 caught fire while charging in his car. It turned out he put the phone in the microwave. Here is a brief video which shows the making and design of the HTC One. You can clearly see the HTC logo is engraved on the back:

If you look closely at the HTC One the letters are glued into the aluminum cutouts on the back of the phone. I got my direct from T-Mobile and the letters are not perfectly placed into the aluminum, so you can tell that they are not engraved there. Plus they are a significantly different color, requiring a different type of material.

Are you thick? I am very aware that HTC is engraved into the phone, but as other users have stated, there are decals placed inside of them.

Are you and the op the same person? Why are you so upset?? My comments weren't directed at you, no need for you to attack anyone. I just do not believe the
letter C "randomly fell off".

It's an engraved imprint of the logo with a decal sticker set inside. The decal is what's making the logo shiny. It seems HTC did a good detailing job ;)

Lol, yeah, I'm totally the op. You know it, since I've been an active user on AC for the last few months, and own a droid DNA, not an HTC one.

I'm not upset. I just don't see the point in repetitively questioning the op, and even going as far to insinuate that he's a liar, when other users have stepped up with supporting evidence that it is in fact very probable that the letters can come off.
