Lg 6100 to Samsung Galaxy S5

I'm planning to giving my old Samsung galaxy s5 phone to my wife. She has a flip phone LG 6100. What's the best way to make the transition . I'm relatively knowledgeable with smartphones. Or should I just let Verizon do it. Both are Verizon phones. Thanks.

This phone has been a great phone for her. Lately she has been using my Pixel 3 for text messages and the Assistant. Although she is not willing to go to a smartphone yet, I feel that if she tries it, she'll be convinced.
