LG Bridge on Mac issue

I have read that Marshmallow can be downloaded for the LG G4 by using LG Bridge software. I installed this on Mac, and the necessary drivers and was informed that an update was available (Marshmallow). This was downloaded but as soon as it went to install on the phone I got a message saying my phone could not be updated. It gave me instructions to retry. Did this, same result. Uninstalled Bridge and tried process again but the same result. I am in the UK on EE. Any suggestions? I do not own a PC, only Macs.

I believe it's a problem with the Mac version of LG Bridge, the PC version works fine for updating the phone. It looks like they are in no hurry to fix the Mac version..

I have had the same issues.

I found the following solution on Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg4/comments/3xags1/solution_to_use_mac_lg_bridge_update_mm_for_lg_g4/

BUT PLEASE BEWARE - for me this fix downgraded my LG G4's version of Lollipop and then crashed when trying to upgrade to Marshmallow. When the G4 restarted after the first 'upgrade' it had a permanent home screen crash error which was only fixed by two OTA Lollipop updates.

Not super helpful but I guess up to you to see if it works for you.
