I have a problem with LG Bridge. I am now running Marshmallow on my LG G4. I went to see if there was any other updates for it using LG Bridge. I attached my phone to my computer via USB. When I click check for update I get this message:11.49.25 19-12-2015.png
I wondered why I am getting this message?

Hi, I know it's been a while since your post so you may be sorted by now. In case you're not, I'll summarise what I've just discovered:

I was having the same problem & noticed this post whilst I was looking for a solution online (didn't find one but cracked it on my own).

What the program doesn't make clear is that 'connect' is only for accessing your phone's content - DO NOT PRESS 'connect'

1. You must connect by USB, not WIFI
2. Select MTB for the USB connection from the drop-down notification - LG Bridge should launch on your PC
3. Now back-up and/or check for software update

Seems to me that the 'connect' option is tying up your phone contents, hence the 'busy' message. Hopes this helps you and/or someone else, as I was tearing my hair out!

My software doesn't even detect my phone. I read that it may be because I have nothing but USB 3 ports. When I install the LG Bridge software, it updates the system drivers for both my phone and the software. It didn't detect my phone so I downloaded the latest driver update and ran it manually. Windows can see the phone but LG Bridge can't. I'm just trying to check for a software update because my LS991 still hasn't received MM OTA.

Have a look at my post in the thread entitled: 'LGG4 won't connect to LG Bridge' just in case you're having the same problem as I was (particularly if, like me, you only normally hibernate your PC & don't shut-down)

Great. This worked for me and i am backing up my device at the moment. I have already updated my software to MM.
Thanks.

I can't get my G4 to connect to LG Bridge no matter what I do. Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

I think they got the software from the same place they got those early motherboards.

Have you had problems connecting to Bridge before the replacement? Bridge 'works' for me, at least in the sense that it recognizes the phone when it's connected. Are using the USB cable that came with the phone? If not, try that. Also make sure that you have the latest version of the USB driver - Bridge asked me to update it about 10 days ago, it now says 'LG Mobile Driver v 4.0.4'. Also Bridge self-updated today to version 1.1.22.

(my H815 with s/n 505 says hi.. for now :-!)

I hadn't been able to connect with my original G4 either. I'm pretty sure all is up to date.

I am on Verizon, and I may be forgetting that this is another thing it disabled? There is the Verizon update software/repair that they may be forcing users in to using instead, although that doesn't leave any of the other functionality of Bridge. At least I'm able to backup via LG Backup on the phone itself.

Other people on VZW say they cannot use Bridge either.. seemingly another thing US carriers don't want you to use. I don't use AirDrive myself, but I do use LG backup and the SW update feature. Speaking of somewhat shoddy software, the backup feature was partially broken after the upgrade to MM - it wouldn't finish the backup process unless I de-selected 'Personal data' from the list of data types to back up. The new version fixed that and complete backups are possible again.

One thing is still broken though: LG Bridge *locks* the file system on your PC while backing up, so don't try to open a new (file) explorer window while a backup is in progress - you have to click on 'OK' after the backup completes before you can navigate your PC storage again..

I have an US991 that cannot connect via the LG Bridge. I can see the phone in windows explorer but not using LG Bridge. I tried contacting LG support about it. They told me to have a wonderful day and that they made a note of the problem I was having. In other words they were absolutely useless:

"Thank you for contacting LG Mobile Communications and for the additional details you have provided.

I have made note of the information with the currently open ticket so that this may also be looked into. I will check on this ticket as well personally and as soon as I get updates, I will send you an email immediately. For the meantime, you may opt to backup media files through direct USB connection (via MTP) or use Cloud Services that may also be downloaded from the Google PlayStore.

Once again, I’m sorry for any trouble this may have caused and thank you very much for your patience and understanding on this. We highly appreciate you contacting us with regard to this matter and we hope to address this issue at the soonest possible time.

I hope this information has been helpful in addressing your concern. Should you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us again via Email, Live Chat, or Phone by calling 800-793-8896. You will also see a short survey at the bottom of this email to rate your experience today which will help us know how we’re doing in providing our valued customers excellent service.

Thank you for choosing LG and have a wonderful day!"

Good catch! I thought I had did that, but it appears I didn't. Now I just can't get the stupid bridge to stop trying to connect via AirDrive!

I can't get Bridge to see my phone either. On Verizon too.

I don't think Bridge supports LG-G4 or the 5 and V10

I wouldn't update your phone through bridge though...Heard there's alot more problems doing it that way

It supports my (unlocked) G4 just fine.

Not had any problems updating via the Bridge either. MM works super-smooth for me & my battery life is superb. You might want to check your sources ;)

If I could make one little plea it would be for everyone to state whether their phone is locked to a particular carrier when reporting issues with the OS, ability to use Bridge, etc. As I (think I) understand it, LG Bridge provides the LG-fied version of the OS only; if your phone demands a carrier-fied version, it will probably refuse to connect??

Everyone's experience is different..

Remember the programmer song I learned from university

99 bugs on a wall
99 bugs debugged
191 bugs on a wall
What is the point of this all
