LG G pad worth it? FiOS offered me a free one.

I got a certificate from FiOS for upgrading our package. According to the certificate, I can add an LG G Pad 8.3 to our account for free. Currently i have an iPad mini on that tablet line, but I figured free LG G Pad was an easy way to see if I prefer an Android tablet (I have a One M8 as my phone).

Thoughts? My other thought is to just hold the iPad Mini for another year or so and then see what's out there in the Android tablet world, or potentially roll both tablet and phone into a phablet.

I already have a tablet service plan so according to them I can just swap it out on the tablet line.

The G Pad screen is better than the iPad Mini's but not better than the Mini Retina. I have a G Pad 8.3 WiFi and it's a good tablet.

I think the catch is you would be locked into a contract
