Android Central Question

So I recently picked up the T-Mobile version of the LG G Pad 5 10.1 tablet and was digging around in the settings and ran across the "Comcast device configuration" app. I force stopped it and wiped the 10kb of user data it had and nothing seems to have changed. My question is this: does anyone know how or why I would find such an app on a T-Mobile tablet? Or why it doesn't show up in the system apps list but cannot be deleted, only force stopped and disabled?

Welcome to Android Central! It's possible that the app is there in case you wanted to bring that tablet over to Xfinity Mobile: https://www.theverge.com/2019/7/18/...le-android-byod-samsung-galaxy-s8-s9-note-8-9. It's not unusual to see certain carrier system apps on devices, even completely unlocked ones -- I've seen Verizon and Sprint system apps on completely carrier-agnostic devices. These types of apps typically can't be deleted (since they're system apps), and many kinds of system apps can't be disabled.
