I want my sd card on my Stylo to be my primary storage. Every time I update an app i have to manually move it to my sd card. How do I do it on Stylo?

Welcome to Android Central! This is not possible on an unrooted phone, and I'm not sure how possible it is even if you root it. I assume you're talking about making the SD card the primary app installation storage area.

I want my apps to save to my sd card. I have an Alcatel tablet that does it without being rooted.

Oh, I see. That is dependent on the phone (and not many phones have this option), as well as on each app. Some but not all apps will have the option in their settings to pick a default storage location.

If you root the phone and install Link2SD from the Play Store, you can set the SD card as the default install location for apps. I know this because I used that app before on a rooted Chinese tablet I own.

I believe the OP is asking about having the app save data to the SD card, not to be able to move the app to the SD. Like, for example, when you can set the Camera app to save photos to the SD card by default.

No. Marshmallow 6.0 does not have it. Bought a 32 GB SD card and then learned that the only thing the Stylo allows to transfer to the SD card are photos in a separate Album file.

sethyboy is correct...you have to root the phone and install Link2SD.

My LG styles says sd card needs to be encrypted by phone to function why is that can you tell me and can I bypass this to get use of my sd card.

You can encrypt your sd card in your settings...just click on security and it should be your 3rd option

Welcome to Android Central! Is your phone on Marshmallow? If so, then are you trying to use your SD card as Adoptable Storage?

From what I gather, Marshmallow no longer allows for SDcard to be used as adoptable storage anymore. I tried to do the same thing. However, upon further research I discovered that basically all models of sd are completely inadequate for use as adopt.store because even the fastest are still far too slow. It ends up causing all sorts of problems, bogs the phone down, etc. The stock storage is something like 500 times faster than the fastest SDcards. So it really screws things up trying to run apps from an SD card- which is why they removed option.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you sure it's not just that specific phone or manufacturer that is no longer supporting Adoptable Storage? As far as I know, it's still a feature of Marshmallow, but the individual phone manufacturers have to implement it. Some manufacturers like Samsung opted not to.

First, LG disabled adoptable storage but you can use ADB/Fastboot to enable it.

Second, You need a UHS-1 or faster SD card to use as Adoptable storage. Anything slower will not work properly
