LG G Watch R or Moto 360

Other than the ambient light sensor, what are the othe differences between the LG and Moto?

The LG watch has a rather large bezel around the actual screen because that is where they put all of the screen technology which allows them to keep the screen perfectly round. The moto 360 has a very, very small bezel but that requires that little dead spot on the screen at the bottom of the watch face.

To me, if you are content with using one of the watch faces that is black then you will not see this dead spot in the screen because it too is black. If you want to use a white or colored watch face then you will constantly see that and have to decide if it bothers you or not.

As said earlier, the LG does not have an ambient light sensor to adjust brightness and for me that seems like a deal breaker.

I was talking more to things like a heart rate monitor, pedometer, etc. Of course one has a bezel, that is obvious.

Moto 360 battery sucks according to the review i am going to stick with G watch R

There are many people online that are challenging thosr initial reviews that complain about battery life. Very few people had this device for a long period of time. The thinking is that these reviewers got the device and needed to quickly get a review out and therefore used the device much more than everyday use.

If you look at the reviewers that indicate that they have had the device for a while then most of them are coming much closer to about a 14 hour battery life which is much more line with what Motorola states.

Phil along with several others claim to have squeezed 8 hours with 50% battery. Considering that the battery isn't fully optimized and that the user generally tinker with their tech more than usual use, I would actually consider the battery usage not bad.

Anyone know if it comes in white, or any other colours?

Silver or black for the main piece, and then some different watchbands, along with being able to use standard 22mm watchbands.

G watch R. Its sexy. I hate Motorola.
When's the g watch r coming out? Do we know yet?

Just got this LG G watch R the other night...

I've loved mechanicals since I was a kid. Since I got my first smart watch late last year, the Cookoo (a stunning analog design), I haven't worn any of my mechanicals.

I got the Qualcomm Toq early this year, the first one I had that showed whole notifications, not just icons. That square screen was admittedly geeky, but it looked better than the other square smart watches out there so it became my daily beater. Battery life with that color e-ink was five days at least when turned off at night. There was no turning back since then.

The other month, I got the Moto 360. Was really stoked, save for the two day battery life (required turning off at night to last two days). The all dial design with no bezel just grabs you.

Was also keeping an eye on the LG R because of its traditional, chunky look and regular lugs, unlike the Moto's recessed, invisible lugs that aren't ideal for band swapping.

Loving the LG now. Battery life looks like its gonna be at least four days as long I turn it off at night. The Moto lasts two and a half days as long as I turn it off at night.

Loving these two version ones.

Sadly, all my mechanicals are languishing on the winders

Funny I'm posting on LG G R forums, but I went ahead with the moto 360 and here is why.

1. Qi charging. I have nexus 5 with qi charger, adding to this now I have two qi chargers that works on both mix and match.

2. Screen size. Moto 360 is little bigger than LG, but not fully round watch because of the light sensor and display driver taking a portion of the screen. But it can shrink the watch face size to match LG scale so it "can" be round with fake black bezel surrounding it. You can always shrink face size but you can't make it bigger than the display.

3. No bezel, I was little worried about hitting and scratching the display since it has no bezel. Screen pops out so first thing you will hit is the display. Also I have no screen protective lens or cover, it has been about two weeks, no scratches. I am happy with the screen scratch resistance .

4. My personal taste of design. I just like the look of moto 360 better than the rest.

My only bad review about this is the resolution, I believe this has the lowest ppi of all smart watches out right now besides the pebble. But if I had to go with screen quality vs the batter life, I'd always go with the battery life.

I have both and prefer the LG for one thing. I can leave the Ambient face on all day long and the battery lasts with some to spare. The Moto 360 although nicer to look at (IMO) doesn't even come close.

I have the original G watch and the 360 and find myself wearing the LG daily because I can have the ambient lighting on and not worry about the battery. I use the 360 during the weekends or going to dinner etc.

I'm hoping the new 360 battery holds up and it's not as expensive as the Urbane.
