LG G2 battery jump to 5% - 7% from 50% - 20%

Most of time I use this battery, normally it only functions to 20% - 50% battery level. After that the phone restarts and it shows 5%-7% battery level.
When I use another battery - no problem.
So I know the problem is with that battery. But I'd like to know the reason because it's a genuine new battery.

It could be a lemon, it could be that it was in storage for too long and got damaged somehow.

Batteries can be defective--even genuine ones from the manufacturer.
