LG G2 - Battery

That M8 is a nice phone. Glad to see that HTC finally started to care about the battery issue. My previous phones were the HD2 and the rezound. Hot battery hogs with tiny batteries.

I have had my Android about a year and the battery is horrible. I have disabled uninstalled everything I can. And it drains quickly and slow charging. What concerns me is if there's an emergency my battery is dead by end of the day. Whereas my flip phone lasted for three days.

Consider me among the terribly frustrated with Lollipop. I had great battery life and performance with Kitkat and the phone is practically unusable with Lollipop. I have tried factory reset x 2 without improvement. I don't have a lot of background apps running. Also note that if the phone is in my pocket it heats up to about 100 deg F and battery drain surges. Interesting recent experiment: just got back from 10 days in Spain where I was using bluetooth and wifi but no cellular data, and the battery life was excellent, and phone would not overheat. Now I'm back in the states and it's business as usual: 100% to 30% in 6 hours sitting idle. I also found it to be hot (98 degrees F) while sitting on my desk. So clearly there is something with 3g/4g that is the culprit draining the battery. I understand it is possible to root the phone and go back to Kittykat but sounds complicated and risky. Have any novices done this successfully?

Do you have any apps running in the background? Another thing I have found to help is to do a soft reset
