LG G2 - Blurry images while browsing internet?

Just got my ATT G2 yesterday and overall very satisfied but one thing that keeps bugging me is a lot of images in the web browser, both in the default and in Chrome appear somewhat blurred and washed out. After coming off using an iphone 4 for several years maybe this is to be expected, but it makes me scratch my head just the same after seeing the amazingly crisp photos the camera takes, in addition to the stunning sample videos pre-loaded on the device. I read sometimes carriers downscale browser images but I've primarily been using wifi so I doubt that's the case. Any ideas why this could be, or potential workarounds? I'm so anal about image quality and was expecting a crisp experience across the board so having multiple browsers giving me bad image rendering has been disappointing to say the least.

do the same images/sites appear sharp on other phones?
Can you provide example links?

Compared side-by-side with my girlfriend's S3 and yes my phone's images (on the browser) do indeed look more washed out. The front end UI and text is crystal clear, it's just internet images (and video) that seem affected. I've noticed that only high resolution images appear to be unaffected more or less, so it may be a problem with how the device scales lower resolution media on the device. I'll gather up some examples and report back.

On some browsers(i know Opera and some other do) there is a setting to change the quality of the images, usually under bandwidth settings. I had a look and there is nothing on the native browser(maybe your network has added this?), but you could check to see if there is a similar setting on chrome
