I have an LG g3 and I also encountered the problem with the "AT&T address book" app. I followed Dee Lee's tip on how to disable it. It worked. Thank you very much!

That code Dee Lee gave us with all the *# and 6's really worked for me too! Wow--the fastest answer I ever got--I had even call ed the store I bought it from last week (Optimus PRO G) and they were like suggesting I downloaded a bad app--I said these apps were on here when you turned on my phone....SOOO thankful I didn't have to drive to the store for a run around on a phone I have just invested several hours on getting things straight! I was worried about getting rid of the AT&T address book and losing all of my contact info--but they were still there:) :)

This worked like a charm on my LG G3. Kudos to Dee Lee! Address Book is gone even after turning auto-sync data back on in Settings/General/Accounts & sync (Address Book is still listed here along with email and google but apparently is inactive)

"Here how to disable the AT&T address Book: Go to dailer than dail *#*#2666#*#* and setting "registration" to "completed". Exit out than you are done. "

Bring down your notification, look for the "synchronizing...." message, hold it for a full second, click on app info, then turn off. You can always turn it back on. Also, you can always manually go into your Acccounts under "Settings" and do manual sychs of each account for email, if that is negatively affected by the turning off the AT&T synch. I prefer synching at my own choosing in order to save the battery.

Just got this phone today and when opening AT&T address book big problem because it tries to register the app with an AT&T server. It will then take 10 seconds or so to time out because I use Straight Talk AT&T towers it could not register. Your solution was like magic and worked like a charm. Its a great phone and I do not want to send it back so thank you for the solution.!

Dear User,
If you want to disable your AT&T Address book go to the settings>apps>all apps and disable all services running in the AT&T address book app. So you can easily access your contact directly with out loading the AT&T address book.

This worked for me as well on my LG G3. After doing the *#*#2666#*#* thing, i saw an option on the bottom of the menu that popped up to remove the AAB (AT&T Address Book) account. Now I am free of that annoying address book

Type star # star # 2666 # star # star then set registration to completed when it appears and the AT&T phone book will be permenently removed. This is what I used from another thread and it works!!!!!!!!!!!
