LG G2 repaced screen and digitizer as one unit, now phone won't boot up?

Verizon LG G2. Replaced the Digitizer and Screen as one unit. Worked at first, but I forgot the proximity sensor gasket. So I reassembled, and now it won't boot past the "LG" screen. When I plug it in to the charger or the computer, it just cycles between the "LG" screen and a blank screen.

Is it salvageable?

Try holding the volume down and power buttons at the same time. I've heard sometimes that is needed to recognize a new screen. Not sure if it's true or not, but at this point it's worth a shot right?
