So just installed TWRP on verizon g3 other day and tried JasmineRom last night. Was wondering if anyone knows of any other roms available for bump'd g3's (all the non t mobile g3's)

I did but have only just done a backup. Still waiting for better ROM options. AOKP would be nice. Even a CM11, I guess.

Ya. This is my first android phone (got sick of Apple) so I'm pretty excited to start trying different ROM's.

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

Since the G3 just got unlocked (excepting the T-Mobile version, which was always unlocked), there hasn't been much ROM development yet. It's happening now, but will take a while to get good, clean, reliable ROMs.

CRITICALLY IMPORTANT: Make sure you only flash a ROM that says it's for your specific carrier version. Even though they all say G3, flashing a Sprint ROM to your T-Mobile device, or an AT&T ROM to your Verizon G3, etc., will hard brick your phone for sure. And make sure the ROM you flash say it's been "bumped."

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

I'm running android now v1.3 available for currently D855 v10L.

Its dam fast and 0 issues in terms of lacking functionality.

I also installed BUMP and like the rest await further ROMs to test.

Great that this Exploit has happened as devs will now be busy bumping kernels so that ROMs can be made available...and android L based ROMs could be here on the G3 sooner than you think :-)

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

I have a rooted t-mobile G3 with TWRP installed. I've tried a couple different roms but still haven't found anything really great yet

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

TWRP Theme (can be found over at XDA).

It's going to take some time.

Thanks for the heads up.

Um, if you have TWRP installed it should not hard brick your phone. You should still be able to go into the recovery and restore a backup, or flash stock from ADB, etc...

No. If you install a CDMA ROM to a GSM device, or vice versa, you're most likely toast. I lost count of how many people hard-bricked Samsung GS3s until devs started to make this clear. The phones wouldn't even boot into recovery or download.

Interesting. I've installed a GSM rom to my razr maxx and didn't have an issue of fully bricked. I was using safestrap into a different romslot though...

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

Maybe the Samsung's are different. I don't have much experience with other brands. But it was pretty much a guarantee with the S3.

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

Anyone able to create a backup in TWRP on an encrypted G3? It never asks for my password, just fails to mount /data, "unable to find crypto footer". Even if I uncheck the Data partition in the backup list I get the same error. I guess I can work around it by decrypting phone, create the backup with TWRP setting it's own password, and then re-encrypting the phone (PITA).

One more reason not to encrypt your phone.

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

Can the TWRP recovery install be impolemented with Flashify only, or do I need to carry out the ADB procedure addressed by XDA?

Thanks

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

I've seen others post that flashify works, as well.

Re: Anyone else install TWRP

I only used flashify to do it. Worked perfect for me.
