lg g3 battery life sucks

When I 1st got my G3 my battery life was real bad, not as bad as yours but almost. Then after awhile it got better. Now no complaints. Do't know how or why just glad it's better

Knock wood but right now mine is pretty incredible on battery life. I can charge it at about 9pm then not touch it again until my alarm goes off at 5:30 the next morning and it will still be at 99%. By the time I get home from work at about 6pm it will still be at like 89% or so. But I'm a very light phone user so your mileage will vary as they say.

I switch to ART from Dalvik, and have had a definite increase in battery recently. Initially I was dubious - placebo effect and all that - but over a week and I'm seeing 1.5hrs more than before, still using my phone as I did the previous week(s).

I have a brand new g3 (t mobile) and have been fighting terrible battery life since day 1. Usually I find my phone hot and eating battery rapidly. 20% down in about 2 hours. I have shutoff the gesture recognition, hello google, location services (network only mode when I need them), no Skype, no Facebook. I've had two days of great battery life. Seems that even having amazon kindle or pandora installed hurts so they're removed but I'm still suffering terrible battery life. I actually don't use my phone other than to try and find out why the (inappropriate language edited by Moderator) battery is being burned through so quickly. And the advice in some of the forums (turn off your phone, shutoff data usage, keep a spare battery, etc) is some of the worst non-technical advice I've seen. For example, hot phone = lots of battery usage. Battery usage = heat. The (inappropriate language edited by Moderator)** is hot because the processors are doing SOMETHING. What it's doing is anybody's guess tho right?

Try using Nova launcher and disabling any carrier apps you are not using. Did that on my wife's G3 and we have noticed a big improvement in battery performance. And it only gets hot when playing games like Goat Simulator. I honestly believe the stock launcher has something to do with the crappy battery life. I've never have noticed that much difference on any phone switching from stock launcher to Nova (or pick a 3rd party launcher) launcher till I did on this phone. Now her phone last all day just fine now.

I have the new LG G4 and it is great. But the battery only lasts like 9 hours. I admit i do use it a lot so i would say heavy use. The wi fi is on all the time, i use youtube and browser a lot, i use spotify which apparently drains the battery. But something happened for the first time today as i slept for 5 hours. The battery was 70 and now its 50. And it was quite warm. If it makes any difference i had it under my pillow.
I'm worried as I've only had it for 4 days and it only lasts 9 hours!!!

Dude. REally? I couldn't get 15 hours out of this phone with heavy usage. It gets hot and moody. If not for the fact that I don't want to buy another one, I might go back to iphone land.

I love the look of the phone and the camera. It's running stock 5.0 d855.

Battery has been poor for me. have posted on several occasions. I use nova. Disabled Google location. Disabled a load of push etc and got 2.5 SOT. I sent it back as part of warranty and dug out my Sony Z1. (5.02 lollipop) and I get 4 hours SOT with same apps but I left all location services and push on.

I may have had a faulty phone but lg said it was a known android issue that they were waiting for Google to fix so said I had to wait at first.

I think part of the problem with the battery is network strength. Here at home, my battery lasts fine all day. But on the road, at a trade show, forget it. I was just at a show and it was in the basement with 3g and wifi and the battery would literally go to 20% in 2 hours.

Mine does the same at work, trying to connect to WiFi, or to 3g etc, really eats it up.

I am getting great battery life on my g3. On a day with normal usage I will be between 40-50% battery at the end of the day. During heavy use days I can get around 5hrs screen time and be at 10-15% battery when done for the day.

5hrs of SOT? Wow! Are you on stock settings? Or one of those extended battery packs?

A tip is not to close down applications all to often as the phone has to reopen the application when you want to use it again instead of just continuing it. But closing apps is of course a good thing to do.
But I could be wrong.

Me too. Battery life on mine is great. I have about 50% left at 5pm after lots of use. Not really heavy, but very frequent use.
I did an experiment the other day and took it off the charger around 8am. Then didn't really touch it all day, except checking on the battery real quick.
Turns out it dropped to 99% a little after 6pm.

Re: not that gud btry life

not very poor battery life but not even good as others are talking. i jut bought the ph two days back n it is not that impressive in terms of battery life. i m infact dissapointed.
