LG G3, because LG wants hype too!

I currently have the G2, and I would like to say I absolutely love it!
I'm actually thinking of upgrading to the G3 when it comes out.
In order to be a dream G3, it should have:
16 MP shooter with MANY shooting modes
5.3' QHD display
3500mAh battery
Snapdragon 805
Android 4.4/4.5
New UI
64 GB option
Better wi-fi and gps connectivity.
Now THAT would make me upgrade.

can you fit a 5.3' display device in your pocket? it wouldn't even fit in my car...

I think the next step for lg should be to develop a more premium design for the lg g3 because the old one from the lf g2 wasn't that nice. Moreover they have to improve their custom android ui. In my opinion the ui should get a new modern design upgrade.

You might be the first person in the world that has seen a G2 and had this kind of take away from it.

Honestly, this is why i stayed away from the G2...the custom interface always drove me nuts when i visited in the store... yes nova takes that away...but dang the moto x is so much nicer with everything else....

I have the original Optimus G and I agree the G2 looks like a downgrade in terms of materials and build quality. Obviously the internals of the G2 are an upgrade but the OG is still holding up well (it had arguably the best screen and processor of the 2012 phones). I'd like to see the plastics from the G pro 2 make it into the regular G line before I would upgrade

I actually prefer LGs custom UI to Samsung or HTCs. And I don't particularly like the Motorola X hardware so how good the OS is is pointless.

I think LG's UI is far superior to both Samsung and HTC as well. I have an Samsung S4 that I've been using since it launched, my wife has an HTC One for almost a year and I bought a LG G Pad a month or so ago. I love the white background in the menus and I run Nova Prime as a launcher. Nice and responsive. I absolutely despise Touchwiz and will not be getting the Samsung S5 when it's released. I also hate the build of my S4 and think the chrome rim on the S5 looks crazy cheesy.

I'm on the fence if I'll move to the new M8 when it's released next week or try and hold off and see what the G3 has to offer when it is announced. The HTC One (2013) is an awesome device. I far prefer my wife's to my S4, except for the camera. I'd also love the chance to check out the Sony Z2 but I doubt that will be offered on Sprint anytime soon.

I too, feel the UI is as little 'square', lol. Kinda boring, folders are square, nothing fancy. However, I absolutely love this phone. Best phone I have every used. I do not miss the SD card, but I understand why people want it. I, too, have seen cards from respectable card manufacturers fail, and years of memories gone in a flash. In addition to the convenience of an SD Card, I would invest in a cloud service that backs up my data on an ongoing automated basis (example: Verizon's VZ Cloud in the Playstore). That would make me feel safer. BTW, SanDisk had introduce a 128GB high speed SD Card! I think I read it could hold about 30 HD movies! All in your hand...

Really depends if its 720p or 1080p. 720p movies can be anywhere between 1 to 6gbs. 1080p usually run at 7gb and higher. For phones, I wouldn't use anything higher than 720p.

Microsd slot, water / dustproof, and removable battery and I'm all over this. Otherwise I have to settle for an S5. I thinks it's possible it'll have the first two, but unlikely to have a removable battery..

After seeing both the S5 & One M8 announcements I think LG has an opportunity to take another piece of Samsungs pie. I also think Sony needs to figure it out, they're making beautiful phones and the Z2 if I could easily get would be my next.

All 3 above have 32gb options with SD card support which is nice to see. I'd like to see LG do the same.

For the G3 some things I think will happen will be the 1440 screen at 5.3" (I would rather them stick with the 5.2" 1080 screen and improve that somehow). Seems like they have to make the screen bigger each year which has to stop at some point. I think they'll use the same speaker as the G Pro 2. It will be the first major phone with the 805 chip. Probably a 16mp shooter w/ois+ (please have a faster focus/shutter speed than the G2). 3200mah battery with Qi charging on all models. I don't think they'd change from plastic back but it won't be ultra high gloss.

I thought it strange that the phone in Korea has a SD slot, but the one for North America does not. It would seem simpler for a company to have one phone, but I suppose they must be different in other ways. It would seem logical that a phone with a larger and higher resolution screen would have the 805 chip as the 805 should have greater efficiency. For a killer phone (to me) I would like a 64gb phone with SD! Also charging mat. A 5.3" would be welcome as it is only a tenth of inch bigger but might be useful in a higher spec phone. I will likely trade up from G2. A little better sounding phone would also be nice.

Please no finger reader. I hate seeing ppl with the 5s always talks about this feature but only 1% of them really using it haha
