LG G3: Former Nexus 5 zealot's first impressions.

Thanks for these write-ups. I'm a nexus fan, but I'm tired of the poor battery life and not so great camera. I'm also ready for a bigger screen because I'm ready to ditch the two device setup (Tablet and phone): I'd rather just a phone. And my contract is up and I'm ready for a subsidized phone.

I'm nervous about the heavy skins in these flagship phones, but know that I'll have to deal or at least root and remove crap.

I'm torn between this and waiting for the note 4. I'm intrigued by the note because it's bigger, has the stylus, and I think may have a bigger battery. I like the g3 size too because it seems to efficiently maximize it's size, I'm just worried about all of this over heating stuff I keep reading about.

Anyway, thanks for the right up and I look forward to hearing more about how you're getting on with it because I'm in a similar situation.

Thanks. Those are two areas I've noticed the biggest improvement... It most definitely holds a charge longer (50% larger, screen or not, makes a difference) , and that camera is something...

The laser focus, that's no joke. My nexus, if things went right, would take nice pictures. But even after updates it had focusing issues. But using contrast for focus is a workaround and runs into issues in many conditions. There were plenty of times where I had fuss around to get a sharp picture and straight up missed a few moments.

I haven't tripped up the g3 yet... The thing is a high quality, focusing beast.

This is an example... Been on Tapatalk, Google+, Flowly and a few others. Around 2:15 and I'm at 75%. That's mostly a single stretch too.

No complaints with power consumption

Thanks for the detailed write up on the G3. For someone who is on the fence about getting this phone I find these writes up very helpful. Anymore updates ? :)

Giving it a nice long soak to let the new car smell wear off.

I gave the stock keyboard another shot, still possessed by that auto-correcting demon with poor spelling and grammar... Shame.. SwiftKey is decent. Still not as fast and accurate as Swype, but the number and cursor rows are nice.
