LG G3 Getting a lot of screen redraws when unlocking the phone.

Ok now it's starting to happen in other apps now.

For example. I was reading an article in the USA Today app. I locked my screen, went back to read it later and after I unlocked my phone the picture in the article I was reading blanked out and redrew itself. It's like the app blinked out and back in for a sec. Kinda like the memory cleared itself and reloaded.

I'm going to try Nova tomorrow and see if I still have the problems. I still seem to think it's the stock LG launcher causing all this.

So I installed Nova and the redraws so far are gone.

It seems there are just some issues with the LG Launcher, and that is what was causing the problems. Bummer we in the USA aren't getting any of these performance updates to the OS that the Euro version is.

2gb model? The thread that was linked at the beginning was mine probably.

If it's 2gb then it's because of the low memory - I was so annoyed that I sold my phone and bought a 3gb model. Didn't found any other solution - and I was trying for days (nightmares )

No, mine is the 3gb USA version.

So far with Nova launcher the problem has went away, so I am pretty sure now it is the LG launcher causing the issues.

The only thing I really miss is the weather widget from the LG launcher. I don't know why other launchers can't use stock widgets, would be great if they could.

I downloaded Accuweather, which is what the stock widget is, but their widgets don't look as nice as the one that LG uses.

Hi, I had the same issue and I was about to return the phone, just wanted to give it a try, so I´ve decided to change the firmware. First of all, my phone's model is D855 and was running the software version 10a, so what I did was to flash the 10n which is the latest for my model, but kept doing it. Then I´ve flashed the 10c and inmediatly I´ve flashed the 10n again and issue seems to be solved. No redraws at all so far.

Just to let you know, maybe it worth to give a try.

hey i got the g3 myself now, the first two days the phone was fantastic, but now i have EXACTLY the same problem as you have. And i live in Europe, those 3 updates didnt do ****. I have three widgets: smartnotice, calendar, and google search bar, the google search bar doesnt redraw itself, but the two others do, sames as my google folders (where all the google apps are). You still have that issue? Is there a fix?

Is it possible this has something to do with encryption?

It does the same on my Sprint G3. Both ART and Dalvik, no difference. It's a hiccup of sorts just after I unlock my screen. I assume it is cause by a number of things like age, memory usage, app conflicts and what not. No biggie to me but if someone figures it out I'd like to know how.

Peanut Butter behind the battery. That's all it took... to make my phone not work. Good news is I cleaned it out and now it doesn't smell or taste like peanut butter anymore. But seriously, no peanut butter behind the battery... Maybe in the charge port though.
