Re: Lag. The truth?

There are always duds out there, and if you're phone's lagging, then yours is a dud. There is no lag on the G3. None.

Some have switched from Dalvik to ART and on Verizon that causes the phone to stutter, lag, poor battery life, etc. I can confirm because it happened to me.

There is no lag on the G3.

Re: Lag. The truth?

Sounds like you may have gotten what some call a "dud". I've used my G3 quite extensively and have seen no lag, granted I have the 3Gb RAM, but I've seen some 2Gb reviews and it appeared to be practically flawless.

I must've had 2 duds then. Returned the first one and second one was exactly the same. Was branded on 3 network in the uk so maybe it was their version of the os wth problems

Who are you to dismiss someone's account or opinion?
Wow, this goes way beyond you needing everyone to like this phone.
I mean you are literally saying that if it's not a positive comment or coming from you then it must be ignored....creepy.

And this is what you shouldn't listen to, I had the Nexus 5 infact two of them and let me tell you they were not flawless and one did lag a bit and yes I was surprised giving that its stock android.

Well I'm being as honest as I can be,

I jump in and out of apps, play music while surfing the web, YouTube videos, Photo's and a bit of video recording.

I have shot in UHD for the allocated 5mins (Test) and it got warm but not Hot. Oh and no warnings or shutdowns.

The only thing I haven't tried is gaming as I don't (but if you want me to test and report back I can).

Honestly absolutely no issues here from my 2/16gb.

Here we go again you must love me why thank you but I don't swing that way lol

I was stating a point as Aldo82 stated that the Nexus 5 was much smoother and in some regards it no doubt is but I had experience of lag with one while the other was OK.

This will happen in any device or a possibility and even stock android.

I stated yes this is what people shouldn't listen to. Who am I to dismiss someone else's claim.

Hmm I am a person with my own opinions and views.

So what your saying in that statement is that you must have a higher authority to state you shouldn't listen to this guy.

He could of replied himself instead of you flexing yet again. And said the same thing about me why should anyone listen to me?

People have their own minds and if they choose to look at my post and say that yeh they shouldn't listen to this statement made by Aldo82 or me for that matter.

I do NOT expect everyone to agree with me, nor would I want them to.

We all have our own opinions and I can choose to say don't listen to this just as much as someone can say don't listen to my claims.

I wasn't offensive nor aggressive.... Aldo82 I simply was meaning I don't agree with you..

But yet again you go trolling and act like Rambo on AC and I'm going to sort you all out.

Notice plenty of people have said similar thing to people on various threads and yet its just me you flex to.

While I really do appreciate both of you and everyone else participating in discussion its clear you both need to come to some sort of mutual understanding or co existence. Opinions vary and that is why we have choices but there is no need to drag each other through the mud to get your points across. I know your both better than this and can share and discuss your experiences in a better manor for each other and the rest of the community to enjoy.

And there was some references that is completely inappropriate that was brought into play here that doesn't need further PUBLICIZING and no place in these forums. This is the only time I'll give warning concerning that.

Concerning my references it was clearly in jest as an appearance one was portraying but my apologies to BBseatle.

As I stated its just me he acts in this fashion to anyone else making statements similar to mine he doesn't say a word, why is this?

But I will again apologise for my reaction.

Re: Lag. The truth?

OP, every android will have a hint of lag. Even a Nexus or a brand using a well optimized variation of Google's Android will have an occasional stutter if for example, you just finished playing a resource intensive game, or you're using one or more poorly coded widgets. A lot of store displays will have 5 home screens stuffed full of widgets and likely have a huge app cache never cleaned out either.
If I were you, I'd visit LG's official support forums along with XDA g3 forums. If you see a correlation of certain issues being frequently mentioned that's a pretty good indicator something is up. The nexus 7 multi touch problem was first discovered at XDA, then the reports started coming into the n7 support forum and it ended up being acknowledged.

Re: Lag. The truth?

I think I'm just going to go ahead and order the G3. I'll have 14 days to see how I get on with it ( I can only return it if its not had a sim in etc), but even just playing around with it should hopefully give me an idea of how it performs.

If I was to go for the M8 without giving the G3 a go, I'd always be left wondering!

That's what I'm doing. I've been trying hard to find reasons to take it back in a week. I haven't yet.

Re: Lag. The truth?

Coming from Windows Phone without ever owning an Android device before I'm not sure what lag is to be expected. I however experience some stutter rarely when I do a lot of things at the same time, but it's always shorter than the transition animations on Windows Phone...

That's a naughty little secret about iOS and WP that most people aren't aware of. Lag can be masked quite effectively by animation lengths that give apps time to load smoothly. It's when you also see the animations stuttering that you know you have a problem. I have very occasionally spotted hints of lag on other OS's as well. Infrequent, but still there. No mobile OS is 100% immune. I'm betting that if there was a Developer Option in settings on iOS and WP to turn down or off animation draw times like you can on Android, you'd catch what's really happening behind the scenes.

Coming from a Nexus 5, lag was very noticeable. I've improved it some, but I don't think the stock launcher will ever be as smooth as the Nexus. Not a deal-breaker, but disappointing.

Re: Lag. The truth?

I'm currently running UltimaRom AOSP on my S3 and its pretty much lag free so I'm wondering how much I will notice on the G3.

Are there many custom ROMs for the G3? Every time I get a new phone I tell myself that I'll not root / load custom ROMs, but I always end up doing it! I guess that's part of the fun of android!

Re: Lag. The truth?

I'm on T-Mobile. No lag. Never experienced a glitch - been using it for 2 weeks.
This is the 3GB/32GB version.

What I do get is great quality calls, strong wi-fi and data/cell signal. I'm 100% satisfied. Also I love the camera quality and buttons on the back/knock feature. This is my first LG phone. Just sold my Samsung S3 that was in perfect condition.

Re: Lag. The truth?

So its time for me to upgrade from my trusty Galaxy S 3, and I'm very interested in the Lg G3, but I keep reading about lag issues. And I really don't like lag ( I'm using a custom ROM on my GS3 which is pretty much lag free at the moment).

Now some people say it's nothing, and others seem to give the impression that its a real problem. So I'm hoping to get some honest opinions here. Just how bad is it?

Bearing in mind that I'm in the UK so if I do get a G3 it'll be the 2GB version.

Its this or an M8, but the G3 really does appeal to me.

Did you go to a dealer and try one out?

Re: Lag. The truth?

Yeah I managed to get a brief play with one tonight ( very brief though, because i had my 3 year old with me!).

Its not bad, although I was trying it along with a M8, and the M8 is noticeably faster. But it feels about the same speed as my current phone.

I wasn't overly impressed with the display though, I mean its nice and I love the size, but I was surprised to find that I was already using it on 100% brightness, when I went to turn it up.

I'm not sure now, I need to go without any kids and see if I can get another better go on it before I finally decide.

There's kind of a "two step system" with brightness. If you put it to 100 % but leave "Auto" ticked it will still be considerable darker than when you untick it. The difference is quite substantial (in my darkened room it's actually pretty extreme).

It might have been that, I find the screen very bright on 100 % without automatic adjustment.

Ah now to be fair I didn't think to check if auto was on or not!
