LG G3 Runtime Dalvik or ART?

I tried ART for a few days. I think it was a little faster. But the battery drained a lot more when sleeping so I switched back to Dalvik.

Yep I can confirm that the Facebook betas are not compatible with Art runtime.. I uninstalled the betas and boom. It works.

Wow, thanks! That's really helpful - I was wondering why its not working on ART. I switched back immediately but nice to know it.

Just switch to ART 12 hours ago. I don't see any change I'll keep an eye on it today and have update for everyone.

I have been using art for a while and over all I really like it my phone is fast and battery seems to be very good if not better than on dalvik only problem I have and I don't know if it is because of using art but every time I shut my phone off and turn it back on I loose my album art and have to put it all back in again. Anyone else having this issue if so maybe a remedy would be greatly appreciated.

Only thing that keeps me from using ART is that Facebook will not work. I could sacrifice using the Facebook and use the mobile site but I've also heard of freezing and some instability. I'm not sure if the good outweighs the bad..

I haven't had a problem with ART and Facebook app. However for the past few days my phone has been freezing almost everyday. It was only doing that about once a week and that didn't bother me since a quick battery pull fixes that. I don't know of it's ART or maybe a app I recently downloaded. Blah

Mine did the same while on Art. Went back to Dalvic and I'm near issue free. Sticking with Dalvic now because I'm rooted with Xposed

I have noticed over at XDA you can get some xposed modules to work on art so imagine you can get the framework to work, but looks like a complicated procedure

Just froze again now. I feel like I'm using a old phone that I keep having to do a battery pull. The phone is so smooth with ART and laggy without it. Never had this issue with the G2. Its really upsetting the phone is so laggy compare to the g2.

Hi - add my piece here regarding ART runtime. I switch mine on over 24 hours ago and have noticed the battery is giving better results, after average day of use I was on 70% that night. Battery still drains as usual with constant use though. I have had no freezes as yet, and it seems to run pretty smoothly. Model: D855 International

I run TweaksBox LG G3 and have also modified speaker boost and disabled that annoying LG jingle on shut down and boot up.

I have switched off 'fast dormancy rate' - still not sure what difference it will make. Haven't noticed anything yet.

To speed transitions I set all animations to 0.5 but it seems a little too snappy so I switched back to 1x.

Update Edit: I admittedly had a placebo effect. I have realised that my phone is being forced by Xposed Framework to remain on Dalvik. Every time I selected ART it reboots back into Dalvik and after some reading found that Xposed on my rooted G3 is unable to run on ART so effectively blocks it.

How do you change from Dalvik to ART? Do you need to root/re-flash another ROM or what?
I am running Android 5.0 on D855. Software is V20H-EUR-XX.
I can't find runtime option in the developer settings.
