LG G3 Touch is Barely Responsive

I could really use some help. Did about a week of research, and couldn't find anyone with a similar problem.

I use an AT&T LG G3. It has a glass screen protector. I didn't drop it or anything. Was just sitting there using it, and it seemed fine, until the touchscreen randomly stopped being responsive. It won't register single taps. If I tap and hold, it will eventually register. Sometimes, if I tap continuously and quickly, it will register.
For a while, the top half inch of the screen wouldn't register at all, and I confirmed this with a "draw test" on quickmemo.
That part has resolved itself, but it's still so unresponsive that I find it unusable.
I've removed the screen protector, done a factory reset, and taken a look at the connectors for the screen and digitizer, which look fine. I can't find anything obvious, hardware or software.

Any advice, suggestions, or help would be greatly appreciated!

Just to clarify, because maybe I wasn't clear:
- The top half inch used to not register at all. Now it kind of does.
-The entire screen doesn't respond to normal taps. To get touch to register I have to tap and hold, or tap quickly, for a few seconds.

And I'm sorry to hear that yeahizme :( It's a pity. Such a beautiful phone, mostly functioning, but can't really be interfaced with.

UPDATE: If I hold, register, and maintain one touch, anywhere on the screen, then any additional touches are registered as normal. This means that if I hold a finger on the edge of the screen, the phone becomes fairly more usable, but it's still kind of a pain.
I'm seeing if I can rig it up with a piece of tin foil to register and maintain that one touch, so that I can use the phone like "normal."

I have the EXACT issue. Although, the top screen isn't working for me at all... What's the fix you had for that ? because i just cant use notifications if i don't put the phone on horizontal mode. Same thing if I hold it a few seconds then keep that finger on the screen I can actually register new touches. But else than that NOTHING -_- Anyone has a fix ? been like this for at least a month and a half :(
it's pretty sad. it's such a good phone still.
Same here... But they don't have the V10 in Canada :( So I'd have to get the international version

Has anybody found a solution for this? I'm having the exact same issue.

Top of the screen (basically the exact size of the notification bar) not responding at all, the rest of the screen only responding to press and hold.

Did anyone tried replacing the hole touch screen ? does it fix the issue.
Only then we would be able to know if its a software or hardware issue...
I wish I had the money to try it. but I just don't feel like wasting 60 -100 $ if it's a software issue.

If it helps anyone I figured that the touch is unresponsive for a whole second. after 1 sec it registers the touch and then the rest of the screen is usable if you keep that registered touch. But having that in mind, still the first cm of the top screen does not work at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

My problem is that certain letters on the keyboard will stop completely. I will have to come up with a different word that doesn't use that letter because I can't just type something else and backspace to the same spot again, the phone remembers where the problem was and will have it again. But as soon as I move forward that letter becomes operable again.

Very annoying.

lol That was my next option... I wanted the v10 too but like I said on my other post, it's not available in Canada. So I thought might as well wait for the G5. It's "RUMORED" to appear at MWC 2016 in February :)

Oooh and BTW I'm still stucked with the same issue no clue yet how to go around -__-

Hey everyone. I wanted to weigh in on this, as I'm having these issues with an LG G3 as well.

Pretty much all the same symptoms, particularly:

  1. regions that are worse than others
  2. repeatedly tapping a region or pressing and holding can make the region semi-responsive again
  3. starting in a "good" region and then swiping over into a bad region can be effective

Some extra info that's not been highlighted above:

  1. I have rooted my phone and wiped it, installing Cyanogenmod. The issue persisted even after all that!
  2. When I boot my phone into recovery mode, I still see the issue down there.
  3. When I turn on Cyanogenmod's diagnostic screen mode (draws real-time horizontal and vertical lines around your touch to show feedback of touch system), I can verify the bad regions.

So all of these factors tell me that this is definitely hardware and not software.

The following youtube fixes are definitely non-trivial:

I haven't yet attempted to fix mine. I've bought a replacement digitizer.
