OK so I have an LG g3 and had it for a few months it has started to turn itself off randomly, when trying to restart the phone it will not allow me too until I remove the battery and replace it again. the temperature to me is not that hot compared to when I had a Samsung s4.

any help will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

Is it possible that the battery is not making good contact with the connectors or contacts inside the battery chamber?

Does it go through the shutdown process, or does it immediately turn off, like when you pull the battery?

Also, do you use an SD card?

I've had it happen to mine 3 or 4 times already. And nothing will power it back on until you pull the battery. Called LG who gave me the standard factory reset line. But, even after a factory reset, it's still done it at least twice. Both times it has happened has been at night while I was attempting to use the phone as an alarm clock. Needless to say, I now have a backup alarm clock just in case it happens again.

After this G3, this will be my last LG phone.

I'm having the same problem. My phone would randomly restart and bootloop to the point of being unusable a few months ago. I looked online and found that happened often once the stock battery started to significantly deteriorate. I got a new battery and the problem went away. However for the past few days, my phone has started crashing after casual use and it won't restart without a battery pull. I've looked online and found a few recommended solutions like turning off location settings, removing the sd card, or waiting 30 seconds to reinsert the battery after a crash. I turned off the location and removed the sd card which seems to help, but I need location on pretty regularly.

AT&T LG G3 rooted running Orion OS v2.2, Android 6.0.1

I've had 2 G3's, and had bootloop probs or random shutdowns with both using the oem battery that came with the phone. Same prob with an oem battery purchased on ebay.I replaced it with an Anker battery and have not had a problem with either phone since. I also purchased another brand battery on ebay, and that one shut the phone down and it wouldn't restart without pulling the battery. The phone seems to be very sensitive to the power source. Anyway the Anker battery worked for me.
